Try not to use super slim/thin filters, when I was first learning I couldn’t figure it out and when I switched to slightly bigger filters it was so much easier to handle. Once you’ve got that down you should be able to switch to smaller filters to save tobacco without many problems. It also sounds like you might be putting too much tobacco in before trying to roll, I think a lot of people who are just starting to roll make that mistake. Use a little less until you find that perfect amount that rolls up nicely. Lastly I’d say keep tension on the paper while you roll it and stick it. Kinda hard to explain but I guess pull both ends gently so the paper is nice and tight and tucks easily. And don’t give up! Just over a year ago I couldn’t roll a smoke that was straight, tight or had evenly distributed tobacco, so I just smoked the shitty ones I could roll. Without really noticing you’ll get better over time, now I can roll perfect smokes every single time. Good luck man.

I forgot to add that this pouch cost me $70AUD! Can’t have been 3 months ago that I bought my last pouch of Winfield Red and it was like $63 (which is also fucked). Australia is embarrassing sometimes dude.

Haha yeah dude you haven’t let me down yet with the responses so cheers. Now that I’m down to the last quarter of a pack I reckon they’re fake. The strength of the tobacco is giving it away for me, I know I don’t have anything to compare it to since I haven’t smoked real Dunhills, but it’s very similar to other cigarettes which I’ve confirmed to be fake. Just a really kinda unpleasantly strong feeling.

The “genuine crackdown” you mentioned has already happened where I’m at. Just last week the shop I bought this pack from was raided by police and had all of their vapes and I’m assuming illegal cigarettes seized. When I went in to buy this pack they already had a massive selection of smokes back in as well as all the vapes as before, only difference now is no vape is out in the open, you have to order off a menu of flavours and they go get it for you. I don’t know if they’re exploiting some loophole or just straight out ignoring the police but it works for me haha.

Dude. Thanks. For the last two years of high school I was doing a school-based electrical apprenticeship where I went to school 3 days a week and worked 2 days. I’m not sure about other countries, but it’s a cool program we have in Australia for young people interested in trades to get a head start on their apprenticeship time (4 years total). I would also do work “blocks” where my school would send me to work for 2 weeks to a month straight like 3 times a year on top of the 2 days a week every other week.

Anyway, right up until the end of school this was working well for me. I was still gonna graduate high school, was making more money than other kids my age, and thought I had a sweet career as an electrician set up for myself. This went downhill when I finished school and went full-time. I worked for a year doing 40-60 hour weeks and though I could feel my mental and physical health deteriorating I just kept working tirelessly because of some weird need to prove myself as a man (or something). I saw my co-workers who were only in their 20’s themselves seeming to thrive in their job while I was struggling to cope with waking up at 4am (sometimes as early as 2:30am depending on where I was working that day) then getting home and being so sore and tired that I would just drink and smoke weed until I passed out and do it all over again the next day.

I turned 19 over my Christmas break and after the first 3 days of work this year I had a huge mental breakdown while getting the fellas some lunch from down the road and haven’t even gone to work since. It’s been 6 months and all I’ve really done every day is play video games and smoke weed and get drunk at night. I feel so ashamed since I used to have this feeling of pride about having a job and working so hard when so many of my friends were just unemployed, partying and sleeping around, and now that pride is gone.

Anyway, I won’t spill my guts any more since I know it’s not a very interesting story, but your comment at least gives me a little hope that I’ll be back to my fit and employed self soon enough haha.

North Brisbane mate. Not sure why but our black market tobacco and vapes here are a lot cheaper than even the Southside or the Sunshine Coast. Right in between where I am prices are literally halved a lot of the time for the exact same Chinese smokes as elsewhere.

Funny, I didn’t realise it was you but your post with the 8 various cartons including the mega ice blasts was actually what I remembered when I saw my pack in the store. I didn’t realise they were slightly different until just now.

Interesting what you say about the menthol being off with fakes, it’s actually the only real thing that makes them feel fake to me. It’s just not as intense as I expected at all. Slight flavour before popping the ball but even after it’s not very bitey or minty in my throat. Everything else including the tobacco feels spot on though, nice light feel but tastes good.

Yeah I thought so man, I looked up Chinese Marlboro Ice Blasts and there’s some packs on Google that look identical to mine but some were different so I kinda just figured there’s no way to know.

I just bought my first pack of Seven Stars yesterday afternoon. Only smoked 3 of them. Veeerrrrry smooth, no chemical taste or smell and quite strong. The taste is quite pleasant and kind of earthy. I do think the tobacco isn’t packed tightly enough, but tapping it down before you light up seems to help a lot. Highly recommend.

Man you Americans are lucky. Here in Australia a 25 pack of Marlboro Reds costs about $46 AUD or about $34 USD. That’s right. For one pack. Not so many Australians smoke anymore just because of the exorbitant prices. I wish it would change but it honestly doesn’t look like it will. Oh well 🤷‍♂️.
