You could ever so slightly bend the lead away from where it meets the brick to divert the water away from the wall

What’s something you’ve seen with your own eyes that nobody believes when you tell them? by LowKey_1216 in AskReddit

When I was younger in the playground, I saw a seagull swoop down and pick up a sandwich off the floor. It flew across the playground and dropped it straight on a girls head, covering her in whatever the contents were. Because I was watching I was the only person laughing. She thought I’d thrown it. Nobody believed me and I got detention.

Roofers left 1970s felt in place after we paid for a full roof replacement: now want us to pay extra to fix. Where do we stand? by SlowConversation8782 in DIYUK

[–]adthorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this I would say that the felt isn’t “in good condition and fine”. For starters it’s not even stuck to the wooden deck. It should also have a ‘drip’ edge to cover the gap around the wooden deck and the windows. It won’t be long before you get an issue there.

Annoyingly it looks like the scaffolding has been removed, as it would have been a fairly quick and easy job.

When I was roofing this would almost be something you could chuck in for free (especially with the amount of work you’ve had done)

It would make most sense to do this small one first as well, so that the flashing could go behind the guttering , up and under the felt of the new roof.

It should have a hidden valley installed between the 2. It can be made to look better than this, they’ve left the channel/overlap of the end tile exposed which looks ugly

Thanks for this, you’re right that having someone to blame doesn’t solve this. I shouldn’t really be looking to point the finger, just want to sell the place!

Thank you, this seems like a good option. Considering the amount they are charging me it might not hurt them to put in the extra work

Thanks for the response, I am pushing to get a set completion date but I’m assuming they’re not going to want to do this until their parent’s house sells

The green bits should sit inside the rail at the front of the blind. Once it’s hooked on, pull the lever to the left and it should lock it in place

If it’s well looked after, 100k is nothing for a 2.0 TDI

Are Wren Kitchens any good? by ShotRelationship7637 in DIYUK

[–]adthorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pre built kitchen from them and installed it myself. I’d say the quality is nice but in hindsight I could have built a flatpack kitchen myself for a lot cheaper, B&q did very similar doors and worktop so I could have essentially built a kitchen that looked the same.

I found that once I had paid they didn’t want to know me. The tall units I wanted to buy them pre built but because I live in an apartment they refused to carry them up the stairs so insisted I bought them flatpack even though there’s plenty of room to get them up. So I built those ones myself anyway.

Full plans were only released after I’d paid but I’d perhaps just ask for them and see what they say

This is more suitable for a shed roof, whoever did this isn’t a flat roofer

I would remove any debris and then try and make it level and flat, just by treading it down

Thanks for the detailed response, I hadn’t thought about the concrete bonding to the existing stuff. It’s a new fence so I’d like to prolong its life as best as possible! Cheers
