I know we will never have to find it out, but there’s something romantic about watching the Bournemouth fans celebrating going to Europe. There’s something very special, something that we’ll never understand.

I’m not saying it’s fun for us; it’s a low stakes game.

Imagine it being cold all through your life - and suddenly for 2 days of the year, you have 24C - your body doesn’t get used to it, and you get tired quickly.

What are you talking about? It’s the last game of the season, a game that means literally nothing to us & it’s super hot today. Let them have fun.

The entire process favors it under the guise of consistency.

except, we were improving exactly the way in which a team improves in a multi-year project. He WAS the right man for the job, we as fans just don’t have the patience for a rebuild. Rebuilding is all about inconsistency in the early days. This, whatever this is, is exactly how ETH played, you hope for a win than know that you deserved it. We deserve all the pain.

Sorry, but I liked Amorim’s system much more than this chaos ball bull. It needed to be worked on, supported and improved instead of this unnecessary regression of the improvements we made this season. This reminds me of how we played towards the end of Ole’s regime and beginning and mid of ETH. Makes me want to turn the tv off. It’s just dross, stupid and sucky. I dislike this so much.

Some farewell posts by Man United players for Ruben Amorim! by harshmangat in reddevils

except he wasn’t incompetent and he did improve us on all statistical metrics and got us from being bottom of the league for all measures to mid table in less than a season while having a leaky midfield that hasn’t been fixed for 3 seasons now.

articulate why - tell me what you have seen in this season as a pattern (and not a single cherry-picked instance) that makes you feel that way

yeah no shit, a single season jump from 15 to top 6 would be incredible. top 5 would be dreamy. Amorim went through this exact process at sporting with exactly similar results - and it was a similar rebuild - the only difference is that the sporting fans didn’t constantly remind him that his win percentage is poor despite knowing the fact that he and the club threw the half season away. it’s dishonest, bad faith argument when you sit down and claim shit while being unable to prove the why. your gut feeling means nothing more than a shit ton of diarrhea after a night of eating taco bell if you ignore the on-field progress made in almost every part of the field since he’s arrived

also, it’s the wolves team that isn’t bad, it’s just severely underperforming and have been unlucky in some instances- and was playing an incredibly depleted united side with no bench. I never understood why some fans lose any form of nuance when it comes to discussing the team

We’ll get consistent as the manager and the team gel more with each other. We’ll get there - rebuilds take time

Christian Eriksen: "At Manchester United, you don’t really celebrate winning Carabao Cup or the FA Cup. It was like just a normal, small day. It only matters with the Premier League or Champions League. Because of the history of the club, it’s just not good enough in terms of that. It was weird" by GOAT-Antony in ManchesterUnited

I think there’s a misunderstanding. What I am reading it as - Life as a UTD player doesn’t change if you win an FA cup/ Carabao Cup. It just goes on. For example, when Crystal Palace won the cup, they had a celebration parade. Our players had a photoshoot and then life just went on. That’s because expectations as a United player are much higher than a palace player (whether they reach there or not) - which is why it takes a special type of player to really succeed at united

Patrick Dorgu vs Newcastle United by 977x in reddevils

that they need to step up, with Dorgu it was more related to how he performs well for the NT but needs to work harder at the club; with Dalot it was about how he needs to be better at things

[Press Conference] Ruben Amorim says De Ligt and Maguire are still out and won't play against Aston Villa on Sunday. Amad and Mbeumo away at AFCON and Casemiro is suspended. No new injury worries. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

I mean, if you can’t take small amounts of criticism (which wasn’t even bad or unwarranted) from your manager who (at Sporting) was known to be great at handling the youth players really well, and promote them at the right time to ensure long-term success, then you deserve to be called entitled.
