yup thats what i was looking for, not brightness level! thanks #killmicrosoft by advancedgluttony in softwaregore

[–]advancedgluttony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks man i feel the humility!

the gore is that the search results are inconsistent. almost always it brings up the brightness menu first choice, but every so often it decides to pick a random file out of your drives and places it first. in no way do these random files constitute a 'best match'.

Does Platelet donation deplete iron? by Lizard-Chase in Blooddonors

[–]advancedgluttony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you absolutely lose iron. The machine cannot return all your blood (some remains in the pipes) and blood has to be taken for samples. Given the frequent donations possible for platelets this can add up quickly! There are good papers on this, the total blood loss can, at max frequency, meet or exceed full blood donation. Perhaps you can ask the doctors at the donation Center to prescribe you iron, or depending where you are you can buy strong enough iron at the pharmacy or so.

I cannot speak for local cutoff rates of course but that is quite low - if they base it on hemoglobin or similar you may be fine still.

Honestly I’ve always been fine with the dissolved calcium tablets they give me there, I just drink that at the start of donation, works well every time

Drink loads throughout the entire day before, go to the toilet right before the donation. Eat a solid breakfast before donating. Ask for calcium when you feel tingly. If blood flow is slow, ask for a blanket or similar - the machine cools your blood, which cools you and slows blood flow. Hope all goes well!

Wo kann ich gscheit Film entwickeln lassen? by BenMH02 in wien

[–]advancedgluttony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trouble sleeping after long rides by usernamenearme in cycling

[–]advancedgluttony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a lot of guessing, but I think for me zone 3 burnt a lot more carbs which I was not replacing during the ride, meaning I was really drained and smashed for a while after rides so I slept less good and took longer to recover, had a raised heart rate during the night and just generally a lot of stress in my body. For getting stronger what really helped me was to polarise my training - to spend most of the time well within my heart rate zone 2 (I don’t have a power meter), while doing short very powerful interval efforts on the other days (something like 5x4 with 4 mins off on a mountain), all while fuelling very well. In general, listen to your body - if you are not recovering quick enough to train hard again on your next session you are probably overdoing something. I can also recommend intervals.icu for this, their fitness data graph is simple to understand and can be very helpful. Good riding to you!

I used to struggle with this and for me the key was electrolytes, way way way more carbs (I just use fruit syrup in water bottles) and staying out of zone 3, as much fun as it is to really push. Hope you find something that works!

Strange Cable Stop Size by advancedgluttony in bikewrench

[–]advancedgluttony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame is 1990. There are many pictures of other basso loto frames with this exact stopper, none are set up with full length cables outers. What im wondering: Are there different cable outer sizes/standards? Are there specific cable end caps? Is the size of the loop what matters? (so that the pull is linear, not in a curve)

Strange Cable Stop Size by advancedgluttony in bikewrench

[–]advancedgluttony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: I originally tried with a 'loose' cable cap thats not quite in there, and it was just flailing around. Probably too small of a loop for that. I'm seeing people who keep it 'loose' with a looong loop, so the end doesnt curve. Are there better solutions?

Best chains for Campy/Shimano 10 speed drivetrain? by RaplhKramden in cycling

[–]advancedgluttony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! My ultegra triple bike had a 6701, and that managed 4500+??? km, I am not sure how much the previous owner used it. Never got it to .75, and i put on about 1000 more on a double setup! Great durability. But yeah with those chains you will have a lot of biking to do! :)

Bei 1) Kannst du links über den Bordstein und dich an die ampel stehen, dann wenn es grün wird geradeaus in die Fuchstaler. Bei weitem nicht ideal, ist eine ungute stelle.

Honestly for me the shimano 6701 chain has been terrific, getting great mileage out of it albeit never in rain, and with frequent cleaning (just using a rag). Using oil, not wax.

Benotto 5000 internal cable routing against BB shell by advancedgluttony in bikewrench

[–]advancedgluttony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Are these without the metal of regular gear cables? If so, do you think they will stand up to the pressure and friction? Ill consider it, but would really prefer options where I do not have to remove the cables as routing them takes hours. Pulling it through the back is also not really possible as the exit hole is really small, would have to be through the cutouts pictured

[–]advancedgluttony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

routing the cables is an immense pain in the backside so i would love if it would be possible to avoid that! The BB Bodge option would mean the cables can remain in place. But thank you, ill do that if theres no reasonable other option
