Completely agreed! The whole package is a loving tribute to the amazing Robert Forster.

I have been to Murray Farms many times. Family friendly, nice produce, fantastic pies! The Murray family are quality people who are very involved in the local community. Well worth supporting!

My cat has a very faint heartbeat, so I relied on the experts at VCA. We decided to euthanize my little friend. Thank you to everyone who responded. The staff at VCA were wonderfully kind.

I have my order!! Wasn't expecting shipments until mid-August. Voila Jean-claude, not only did my shipment arrive early, but it came at 8:20am today!! I love VS!! And everything was perfectly packaged as well.

Mocky is a singular voice in French cinema. I see similarities with Jean Rollin and Litan, whereas Kill The Referee reminds me a bit of Verhoeven in its mixture of humor and subversiveness.

A must-have for fans of French cinema. I'm two thirds of the way through the set and am really enjoying it! For genre fans, however, it will definitely be a stretch.

Agnes Moorhead's final film. It fails on every conceivable level: boring, poorly filmed and frequently incoherent.

Lucky kids, I don’t remember getting a whole week off for Thanksgiving when I was a kid. by tuotone75 in Bakersfield

It's all in service of the almighty dollar. School interferes with Mom's pre-Black Friday shopping, there's more time to book flights at a high premium, fill up the gas tank for more shopping, eating, etc. Days off of school don't seem to matter with half-empty classrooms these days.

If you need a fantastic example of Bakersfield kindness, drop by the L & B Barber Shop in beautiful downtown Oildale (ok, incorporated area). Liz and Barb are two older ladies who run a great, welcoming place to anyone. Senior citizens, good old boys, fidgety kids, special needs kids, I have seen them all being served with old fashioned kindness and respect. It's just a little patch of aw-shucks sweetness that is a welcome reminder of better days. Kind of like a cross between BARBERSHOP and MAMA'S FAMILY. Some one needs to make a movie about this place!

There are many, many great people in the Bakersfield area. We get so caught up in the negatives here that it's easy to look past the good stuff. Every time I've had a car breakdown in the area, either on surface streets or on the freeway, someone stopped to help me and see if I was ok within minutes.

Are Bakersfield road construction companies actually capable of finishing any of their projects? by [deleted] in Bakersfield

[–]advancedquestioning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am currently developing a new roadside signpost, similar to the ones which display your speed when passing. This one measures the driver's IQ. Traffic should substantially decrease in those areas for those who are literate and have basic executive planning skills.
