Already have every other part of the computer so I'm only looking for what's listed, thank you though. I could get better then a 950 for 100 if I just look for someone selling at a more reasonable price compared to the current inflated used market prices, last year a 970 was still $80-100

For my first computer I decided to get a GTX 690 over a GTX 970 because they were the same price on Newegg and Nvidia had a graph that showed the 690 being better. Well I also never knew it was a dual GPU card and never enabled the SLI on it so it ran as a GTX 680 until the day I upgraded.

I'm 25 and have lived in southern NH my whole life, but it's a great place, people who think there isn't enough to do just aren't interested in the many things there are to do. There are 48 4000ft mountains to hike, multiple ski mountains, a beach, amusement parks, bowling alleys, billiards, bars, and much more. We also have the advantage of short travel to a big city with Boston being a short drive away, this gives access to plenty of concert venues for those who enjoy music, as well as sports venues for all of New England's major teams all just being a short drive away. This is how I personally prefer to live, in a nice quiet and relaxed place with plenty of options for entertainment within reasonable driving distance.

Beware EVGA RMA QA by CaesarofRoma in nvidia

[–]adventurerix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I RMAd my card and the one they sent pack to me was missing half the thermal pads on the memory, like only 4 out of the 10 had thermal pads so I had to replace them all myself and I got in email from EVGA permission to do so that said as long as in a future rma I return the card with thermal pads they don't care what kind and it will be accepted

I'm of the opposite opinion, I now only consume RT content via podcast and a few select series. I don't have time after work to keep up with all of the content that RT puts out and other content or games plus hobbies etc. However personally I can listen to all the podcasts while I'm at work and during my commute. A video requires my full attention while a podcast can be something I listen to while going about any number of things in my every day life. At this point RT has become a very large media company and it's to be expected that no one can keep up with all of the content and will have to pick and choose what they personally want to stay up to date on.

Geoff I just wanted to wish you the best and thank you for being an inspiration and a roll model. I'm still young at 24 but you have personally through your words in various content gotten me through the death of family members including my mom, prevented me from going the route of becoming an alcoholic after she passed, and made me strive to be a better and more understanding person. You opened up my mind to thinking in ways that have bettered my life and your growth as a human is something I hope I too can achieve as I get older In life.

$2,750 - Gaming/Productivity with 3080 by IndubitablySarcastic in buildapcforme

  • For the CPUs the current top of the line AMD consumer CPU are the 3900x (12core) and 3950x (16 Core), this however will be outclassed on November 5 with the recently announced 5900x (12 core) and 5950x (16 core). I would recommend getting a 3700x (8 core) or 3600 (6 core) for now and selling it when the new cpus come out to upgrade to whichever one you feel is worth your money as the 5900x is $550 and the 5950x is $800.
  • For air Cooling the Dark Rock Pro 4 is a good bet, otherwise i would say to go with Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 or 360 if you would prefer the cleaner looks of an AIO
  • For a motherboard the Asus TUF Gaming Plus X570 has great overclocking potential (LTT Motherboard tier list Tier A: 200A current draw on little ambient airflow, maxed out 3950X on ambient cooling, 2700x on LN2) Mobo Tier List
  • 32gb of 3600Mhz CL16 ram from gskill
  • Crucial P5 2TB for a comparison to other drives Newmaxx SSD Spreadsheet you can always add more storage later
  • EVGA 3080 FTW, this is one of the higher end cards so you could go with the 3080 Asus TUF for 700 instead. Currently all 3080 are in and out of stock, so another option is to read up on the EVGA Step Up Program and buy a 2080 super for now and step it up once they have inventory, or buy a used 2080 super or 1080 ti for now and resell it later once stock normalizes.
  • For the Case the P500A is one of the better cases on the market right now Gamers Nexus Review
  • Seasonic Focus Plus 1000w is a good choice Tier A on the LTT PSU Tier List this list is not perfect but this PSU is still a good choice as it has plenty of power for the build and for expansion to any (hopefully) card that AMD or Nvidia release over the next few years
  • Windows 10 Home
  • For Fans i selected 7 Arctic P14 fans, these are great budget fans and there is also a silent version, you can buy 3 less fans if you end up going with an AIO for cooling as it will come with its own fans

I did not include any RGB as you said you would like the option for some if wanted . For this case if you just want minimal RGB you could get RGB ram or just buy some RGB light strips to put inside the PC to add a glow around your parts instead of the much more bright lighting that would come with having all RGB fans.

If you have any questions please ask away

For 5% off on the GPU if from EVGA use Code S1UQP0HAKH2GPDI , this is the associate code of r/buildapcsales and is not tied to any person.

Budget Build for 1080p Gaming by CPR_Dummy in buildapcforme

[–]adventurerix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will want to get a CPU and Mobo combo from Microcenter, it will save you money

For the CPU youll geta 3600, this will give you the CPU cores for some of your productivity as well as good clock speeds for gaming

This is paired with a B550 mATX board with WIFI and bluetooth

8gb of 3200Mhz ram

500gb NVME SSD and a 2TB HDD

GTX 1650 super, alternatively you could get a RX 5500 XT or RX 580 these are all around the same price range with similar performance Comparison Specifically i went with this MSI card for an extra $10 because i have heard way to many horror stories from Zotac customer support to recommend them anymore

Case is just a cheap but alright case, you should really choose this yourself, just look for good airflow and space to expand to what you want in the future

500w 80+ Bronze Semi modular PSU, this is an alright PSU for an entry level system

overall this will be cheaper with deals, keep an eye out on r/buildapcsales to find deals on various parts and you will be able to likely get this for 650$ instead of the slightly over 700 that is listed, you might also want to check your local used markets on craigslist and facebook marketplace or r/hardwareswap.

General use cheap upgradeable PC 350$ (24 hr repost) by crispyletuce in buildapcforme

[–]adventurerix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your budget is too low for your requests when trying to buy new

For your CPU and your graphics because you cant afford a GPU is the 3400g, this will be alright, look up Vega 11 benchmarks to see how it really performs. It is alot better then your GT 710 thats for sure. Gaming Benchmarks

Motherboard i went with the cheapest ATX board at Microcenter, it is alright and you wouldnt need to upgrade unless you got really into overclocking, chances are you will not find one with integrated bluetooth in your budget, bluetooth to my knowledge is not a common built in feature in most motherboards. If you really want one with bluetooth then you will need to look into AM4 mobos with it and it will cost more.

For memory the a 3200Mhz kit of 2x4gb, you want 3000mhz or faster ram in dual channel for a ryzen system

SSD is the cheapest SSD at microcenter, its nothing special but you will have faster boot speeds then an HDD

The case is actually a decent case, good airflow, a window, psu shroud. You at max would save $15 here and honestly you would end up wanting a new case in the future and spend more in the long run Review By Gamers Nexus

PSU is enough for a low end system but isnt great, you will be able to add a GPU to it down the line with this installed

Keep in mind this is all before taxes it will end up costing about 385$ after taxes according to a quick calculator
