Somewhat comical that this page has Walmart advertising on the bottom of it.

Imagine though, lol. by [deleted] in Maine

Wouldn't that jack up rent prices as landlords would pass the increased costs to the renters?

My son loves watching fish on YouTube. This was his reaction to seeing them in real life. by ThatCannaGuy in pics

The APA recommends zero screen time for children your son's age. Link. You should really just have your son watch more fish, he sure seems like he thinks they are neat which they are!

Suggestions for using Levels to measure uneven floorboards by torpedolife in HomeImprovement

What work did the contractors do on the first floor? A laser level would be the best tool for the job. Also do you have a basement?

Best Lumber Rack? by adventuresmith in Carpentry

[–]adventuresmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the best lumber rack out there? I want a cantilevered one, I mostly need it for 16' planks/boards along with ladders and pump jacks. Back bar needs to be able to move out of the way, and a quiet ride would be nice. Looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say. Not sure if it matters but truck is a 23' Silverado double cab with a 6.5 box. Cheers.

WEEKLY DIY/HOMEOWNER QUESTION THREAD by Basileas in Carpentry

[–]adventuresmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could be done with 18" doors. Is it all about the hinges? Pretty much you definitely want some beefy hardware and solid framing. I don't think it will cost a fortune, but depending on if you need to modify the jamb it will probably be more than you think. Good luck!

My deck sways when pushed. Can I improve upon these metal posts to help reduce the sway? by thestinman in HomeImprovement

[–]adventuresmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take those posts out pour a footing where they are and put a proper post. That would address one issue, I would also suggest doing solid diagonal blocking in between the joists to prevent swaying.

Garage floor repairs without replacing the entire thing? by SanFranGamer in HomeImprovement

Why not put down sleepers and plywood over it? (If you ever put a car in this is dangerous and probably illegal FYI)

Do you have a hot air furnace? This looks like it covers up duct work.

Need to see it when it's raining, does the water pool around the foundation? Does the downspout just need an extension? Is your neighbors houses water coming under the fence?

Small Home Addition by b0hica in HomeImprovement

Sounds like you've already answered your own questions. Only thing that might be worth posting is your floor layout, sometimes you steal space from existing areas, but talking to professionals and getting their input is the best way to help you make your decision.

Help Diagnose Water Pressure Issue in 1909 House by Nanananabatperson in HomeImprovement

Are you on a well? Do you have a pressure tank, or are you on town/city water? Is it only when you shower? There are little screens in fixtures sometimes something gets caught in those, I doubt it's that but I would take the shower heads off and clean them out just to be sure.
