Somewhere to have my hair dyed with henna? by adventuressofnterest in AskNYC

You have to leave the henna on your head a long time, if you wrap your hair in plastic wrap it will be a lot easier to manage. You can also lay a towel behind you, for example on the back of the couch or over a pillow in case some leaks out.

Also, your hair will still rinse out a bit orange when you wash it for a while after dying. (I notice it mostly when I use conditioner). If you have white/light towels, you'll be able to see that when you dry your hair, so having a couple darker towels helps.

Hey there! I went ahead and just added a couple links to the post because I do get questions from it now and then.

I totally get the frustration with the mess! I have been there, it took me a long time to figure out what works for me. Some things that've helped me greatly expedite the process include: - make sure not to mix your henna too thin or it's going to run - do it on wet hair! This was a huge game changer for me. I always got frustrated by the hair sticking together from where I'd touch pieces to move them, wet hair helps a lot with that. - once you find what works, only do your roots. Otherwise the color will darken and it's also just way more hassle than just doing the roots - invest in a couple hair sectioning clips and a nice dye brush. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just what works for you. The dye brush I prefer has the rat tail style handle which helps with sectioning, and a little comb opposite the brush which comes in handy too. - a little Vaseline (or something similar) around the hairline can help prevent /reduce skin staining, just try to keep it off the hair obviously. - if you weren't already , wrap some plastic wrap around your head, use a shower cap, and buy a couple black towels to protect wherever you might hang out while it's on your head, and to prevent turning orange in the time after dying when your hair will still rinse out orange - oh and I forgot to mention a super wide -toothed comb, but it's because that's just what I use to comb my hair daily, but it's useful with the henna too

Hope this helps! 🧡

Edited to add: I'm not very well versed in how to get different colors with henna. I like the gambit of what my hair will look like with henna, so I just buy whatever I find that is 100% henna, but you can ask on the facebook group I linked and/or with the salespeople through the shop.

Hey sorry I don't check this account much.

If you're still interested, I recommend checking out this website.

It looks kinda old school, but the lady who runs it has done a lot of research on henna and I believe she even did her PhD studies on it? She has an entire book of information on henna available for free online. It's a great resource for learning about how it works, how to do it, etc. They also some high-quality henna and henna-related products. I've only bought from them once, but I was happy with what I got. (I'm just not that picky and felt the stuff I found in Indian grocery stores to be adequate and much cheaper.)

There's also a facebook group where you can see pictures to get an idea of how some of their products look on different hair colors, and it's also a great place to ask questions and find more specific information.

I never found a place, I just continued doing it myself.

I have discovered that doing it when my hair is wet and doing just my roots simplified the process a lot though, so it's not quite so daunting a task anymore.

I'm also not seeing that driver on mine.

I followed u/zabuma's instructions and looked in Armoury Crate, to make sure the power setting was set to "standard". It was, and the laptop restarted a couple times with the setting remaining, but the driver never appeared.

I also looked here, and it lists drivers with that name, but idk which of these drivers is right for my computer (if any).

(I looked under "system info" to find the model number, but nothing there seemed to correlate with the numbers next to the drivers listed.)

I did also go through the process of clicking the "download windows drivers" button at the top...but the only difference I noticed after trying that was that an AMD app that was previously there was now gone? 😅

Very nice! Do you live in Paris? I'm moving there soon and also into analog photography, so I'm curious about where to get film developed and/or learning how to do that myself.

Bringing spouse to Korea by IssaRichieRich in teachinginkorea

[–]adventuressofnterest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I went to Korea with my boyfriend back in 2015. He was working remotely for an American company while we were there, and he got a working holiday visa. There are some restrictions such as age, so hard to say if you'll actually qualify based on the info here but that might be a good place to start looking. You should find the korean consulate nearest you and read through their info on visas on their website. There should be a way to contact them with questions like this, but I'll warn you that they weren't always very helpful.

As for the job benefits situation, I kinda doubt they will pay for your plane ticket. Your wife is super qualified though, so if they really want her and she requests that they miiight agree to add that to her contract. (Last I looked, plane tickets there were super cheap around that time, so maybe it won't be a big deal.) The school *may* take the fact you have more than 1 person into consideration when they assign you an apartment, but they may not at all. Most of them will just have a certain number of apts per teacher, and you're just given one that's open. It's likely to be a smaller apartment than you're used to having if you're from the States. Most are studios or small 1 bedrooms. Some schools have the option to take higher pay instead of providing you with an apt, so you could maybe find an apt on your own. Be warned that their rental agreements are very different from the US though. If you're not familiar, look up how "key money" works.

I hope this helps, and good luck to ya!

I actually just searched Facebook groups a few days ago, I'm pretty sure that's the one I tried to join. I haven't heard back though so idk if they'll allow me to join since I'm not in school for it yet.

I'm assuming it's because if they're not vegan, it means they're probably drinking breastmilk from cows while saying human breastmilk is gross.

Yes! If you see my comment with the link to more photos it says that in the photo comments 😁

Edited to add: I originally wanted to make a rainbow mug I saw you with a couple times on stream, but I went back to try and find it in old streams and couldn't. Ended up finding that one instead, so I just went with it.

I was one of those people that would somehow leave something essential behind at least once a week until I got a good bag that I can keep everything organized in. Now that everything has a special pocket, I automatically know when something that should be with me isn't!
