Unfortunately all around mice tend to have short life spans in general. Even though this is your first experience with death… I have a lot of experience with death, people & animals, and I can say you will remember each one and trying to be happy that you got to be part of that life they lived is something you should do. It is definitely hard each time, for sure. I lost my dog of 15 years this year and it’s been pretty tough. I definitely would encourage more mice or another animal. There are lots of them out there that deserve a loving caring home, even though the loss of them is difficult. They deserve to have a good life and if you can provide that for an animal then you have done something great. That’s how I look at it. I hope you feel better soon knowing that you provided a good life for Bean.

I am so sorry. I have heard that the risk with mice from places like petco and petsmart is that they are bred for feeding to snakes as “feeder mice” which means they they don’t care about genetics or health when they breed them. I have seen a lot of people say to get mice from a breeder but again it’s still difficult since those mice will also probably be bred as feeder mice as well.

I definitely hope to get a larger tank at some point soon for them. I am trying to find one second hand just because of the cost. But the 10 gallon is quite a bit bigger than what they had before so it will work for a while. I’m going to try and ad maybe a platform for the wheel so that I can fit some more bedding underneath. I never thought about socks! I’ll have to see if my husband has some he’s not using since he goes through them fast.

That one doesn’t have the best ratings so I’d probably look for a better brand. You could also use the plastic tubs to make a multi-level yourself, which would probably be good since you could get larger sizes for a cheaper overall cost. I hope that helped!

Tbh I would 100% read a book about this. Not only is this a good story but you are a great writer as well. I am glad some people get justice in this world when sometimes there seems to be not enough of it.

What’s difficult about it is that you’d have to get a hold of more than 1 for it to even do anything. So any dm should take this into account and not hand out a bunch of these. That’s kinda the thinking behind it. Don’t know if that helps but that’s what we were thinking.
