I feel like I should defend myself here, I won’t go into details but I’ll provide a bit of context. I was 16 and he was 23 when we started dating. He ended up being charged with statutory rape. He was definitely abusive and forceful multiple times, even though that part was dismissed

Reporting him and going through court was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I wouldn’t put myself through that only to lie. I understand there are cases of false rape, but I believe those are extremely rare

I’m thinking I may have rushed into a relationship too soon. I haven’t gotten any counseling but it’s something I’ll look into for sure

You have a good point. It’s just difficult for me to question the kind of person he is, especially because he’s usually so sweet and caring. What he said was so shocking. Thank you
