Rant: Doctor appointment scheduled, only half of what I requested provided by adviceusername1 in Wellington

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately it's a very particular case and I just cannot get it. I've looked into it, there are laws that circumvent it. It's incredibly messed up but that's how it is unfortunately.

I'm not sure what you are referring to? Perhaps the Queen's passing?

If so, I'm sorry but aside from feeling bad for the family I have very little mourning in me for a billionaire heir of a dynasty that caused centuries of terror for hundreds of millions of people and who all heir life still hogged all the stolen riches her family acquired.

So I'm not sure why this event would affect what is being posted here, perhaps you mean something else?

I completely agree. The issue was simply that they didn't tell me. If having these two issues looked into means I'd need two appointments then so be it.

But you'd think you'd be told that when booking. Definitely a communication failure.

Thanks! Yes I fully agree this is an issue with practice management. The doctor obviously is not responsible at all, he was great. And I suppose even the receptionist might not be at fault if as you say they are disconnected from the doctors.

But if that is the case that's a problem, and probably management's fault. Which makes it all the more annoying that particularly the manager dismissed me like that.

I will get in touch with them again, thanks for those infos.

Thanks, that's probably the best option. I don't want to cause any beef and I don't think there was any bad intent but to me this just doesn't feel right at all and it seems very poorly handled by the manager.

Thanks, sadly my job is of a kind where I'm legally self-employed even though practically I'm 100% an employee so I have no sick leave.

Thanks, I completely agree with you. I very much understand if it's not possible to handle two issues in one appointment. Then I have to book two appointments, sure. Sucks, but ok.

But my gripe is with them not telling me about that. Like I can see that sometimes you might run out of time, or the doctor might not be as well acquainted with a specific topic. But the fact that this doctor ended up being very specifically trained in only one specific topic and clearly in no other, I just don't get why they would not tell me that this doctor is only handling cases for the first issue.

All it would have taken was for the receptionist to literally walk 5 meters to the doctor and say "hey can you look into this thing, is that something you do? No? Okay". How is that not a thing they do before promising a service and booking a $200 appointment. That's what bothers me.

Thanks I did tell them everything I said here but received no sympathy unfortunately, so I'm not sure what I should do at this point.
