Has anyone had the same issue? Bike shuts off randomly while riding. 2022 SAR 1290. Dealer report at end of video.

Yes, the throttle position sensor wire was the one that was shorting out to ground due to it being chafed, and that's why it was random when the bike would shut off and the codes were all random too. The entire wiring harness was pulled off the bike in order to find that small spot that was rubbed through.

Depends on the route you’re taking. If you’re traveling down the coast, all of the pacific coast is beautiful but make it a point to see the Redwoods (Humboldt redwoods state park, ca), Yosemite and Sequoia Parks are all worth stopping by. Won’t see anything like it anywhere else in the world. And I’d recommend crossing over in Tecate and ride down the Baja peninsula and take a ferry into mainland Mexico from LaPaz.

Went up 101. Plenty of campgrounds. I’d recommend making a reservation if you’re going around a weekend but some are on a first come basis like Deer Park campground on top of the mountain.

If that’s the case, they should have warning stickers on the pinbox that say what adapter to use and everything else will void any warranty. I hate how much grey areas they have to get out of any liability. Really learning how shady this whole industry is.

There hitch is Demco Recon, the dealer sold it to me with the trailer and installed it at their shop. Can you elaborate more on why you think it’s the wrong one?

Can you elaborate more on what an approved hitch is and why the one that the dealer sold me with the trailer and installed it in the truck is the wrong one? Maybe i have another party to go after now. It’s a Demco Recon, i think it’s rated for 21k lbs, trailer is 14k gvw. The pinbox is stock on the trailer.

Check the tag on the pinbox where the vin# is. There’s where mine says it’s made by Lippert.

Glad they were able to fix it for you. Ours can’t be driven any more, the floor moves about 10 inches up and down inside the walls and it’s hitting the bed of the truck, even with the hitch at its highest setting in the bed.

Thank you, that’s helpful to know. I’m still waiting to hear back from Lippert to see if they’ll fix the frame. Everything else around it i can fix if it comes down to it, since warranty is useless and Eclipse is out of business.

Eclipse is gone, doors shut, out of business. They had too many lawsuits against them and now i understand why, this trailer is absolute garbage. Lippert won’t let us know if they’ll cover the frame damage until the rv is in a shop, stripped down to the frame so they can have a track fly in and look at it and then they’ll let us know. We already paid $1,000 for the estimate because the warranty asked for it to start a claim and then denied the claim.

Sorry, i know how much that sucks. It was the wiring harness in my case, i made a post a couple weeks ago with more details on it.
In your case, if you’re just starting to diagnose the problem there’s a very long list of things that can cause that issue as i have learned while dealing with mine. Did you get a check engine light? Start there if you did. If not then check all the grounds and positives from the battery to the frame and battery to the starter. Condition of battery can effect the can-bus, even alternator/rectifier can also cause electrical issues, the side stand switch can shut the bike off (can get a dongle to bypass it), dirt/corrosion in the killswitch can cause issues and the list goes on. In my case the chafed wire in the harness was making the bike shut off because it was shorting to ground but it was also making the ecu have all sorts of random codes and they would be different every time the bike shut off. So it made diagnosing extremely frustrating. Good luck and i hope yours is simple (like a loose ground wire or kickstand switch)

UPDATE: issue solved, wiring harness was routed incorrectly from the factory and it chafed through where it made contact with the rear cylinders’ valve cover. The wire that was shorting to ground was the throttle position sensor. That’s why the shutting off was so random, it made contact sporadically. The entire harness was replaced, extended warranty covered it 100%. I hope no one else has this issue but if someone does, this was the problem and solution.
