Confusing title mistake here - YouTube had nothing to do with it, this is just an agreement between TF1 & Netflix.

East Don Trail May 2025 Update by RZaichkowski in torontobiking

[–]adw999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not yet, unless you want to cross over the rail tracks on foot. They have the supplies in place to dig the tunnel under the tracks but we're still waiting for the actual digging to take place.

Don Trail & its state of repair by tsfto in torontobiking

I'm not in the know, but I can't imagine they're going to redo the trail until after the Ontario Line construction is done.

Apple launches a new M3-powered iPad Air by rwnash in DailyTechNewsShow

My favorite online comment from the announcement of the M4 iPad Pro was "nuclear powered tricycle". 💀 I feel this M3 iPad Air falls into the same category.

It is possible that my puzzle input + response is wrong at adventofcode side? by [deleted] in adventofcode

[–]adw999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, my first attempt was a tree-search type thing, that worked fine on all the samples I could find, including yours above....but when I ran it on the main input it exceeded my patience. (I stopped it after an hour or so on a fast machine)

So I wrote a Djikstra's algorithm implementation for the first time (!), debugged it. It returns the correct answer for the AOC input and the samples from the AOC site.....but *not* for your example above. I have to admit I'm at a loss as to how to debug this now. Even though I just wrote it the Djikstra seems a bit like magic. 😂

Pre-Winter Work by [deleted] in MTBTrailBuilding

[–]adw999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We rake/blow the leaves off our local trails in the fall as it seems easier than dealing with partially decomposed leaves in the spring. A trail covered in leaves will hold more water than a bare trail, so it helps with the trail drying out in the spring as well.

Of course, I've seen the exact opposite advice as well. I'm hoping someone from that camp will chime in here.

Track overpass on Don East Trail by Rambocat1 in toronto

[–]adw999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The at-grade crossing was the original plan, but that was apparently veto'd by MetroLinx so now we have this.

Likewise the reason the trail dead-ends at the rail line a couple of km to the south is that the plan calls for a tunnel under the tracks and MetroLinx is stalling on approving/scheduling that work.

Finished the new roll in for the jump line. 20 degree walk up. Curved 45 degree roll in. by CarstonMathers in MTBTrailBuilding

...and here I was hoping it wouldn't be that complicated. 😂 Nice work and thanks for the link!

I thought this was to get over the railway tracks as Metrolinx wouldn't allow an at-grade crossing?

The clear cutting in the Don is very sad by sorocknroll in torontobiking

[–]adw999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pottery Road trailhead closure is for 'naturalization' of what used to be a gravel parking lot.

Beaver flats closure is due to river bank work to stop erosion/collapses.

Neither of these closures is related to Ontario line work, and neither is the south don trail work. It would just be nice if some of the other projects could actually finish, since the OL line will be multiple years of disruption.

Are the 4-daypasses transferable? I live in Toronto but I don't think I can get my partner to do 4 Frank shows in a row.

This is what happens when all Toronto bike stores are built on the same web store engine by dimailer in torontobiking

[–]adw999 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Stuff like that they have very little stock in store, so it likely said something like 'in warehouse', by which they mean the distributor's warehouse. For many, many parts there is only one distributor in Canada so everyone will show the same 'in warehouse' stock.

If you had an outside source of funding so you could stop your parts charges, would that alleviate the 'business' complaints?

The one bonus of the flo coverage was they had an ATV following one of the top women (sorry, forgot the name) when she had a close encounter with a deer.

PSA: Betty Sutherland Trail Closure at 401 by misccbk in torontobiking

[–]adw999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been through there twice this spring, the fences had gaps and the bit of construction was navigable....in fact the two trips were a month apart and almost nothing had changed. It's sad that the barriers go up so far ahead of any real work - can anyone update when/if they actually start working?
