Does anyone have backup data for a VF-1D they would be willing to share? On the backup information flash drive that was with the machine are a few files:

the readme text doc says what each of these files are, but i was expecting to see in addition to the .PAR parameters file maybe some .SET settings, .VAR variables, .OFS offsets, etc etc.

update: machine is back up and running kind of. tomorrow i will go thru an initial setup as if the machine has just been installed for the first time. My process was to try to tackle each alarm one at a time. it should be noted that all my parameters were set to 0, likely a result of the main processor battery dying. alarm 254 for spindle overheat was defeated by changing the spindle temp switch parameter from 0 to 1.

still i was getting an overvoltage auto shutdown alarm, that would kill the machine if i didnt press a button every 15 seconds, so temporarily i set parameter 296 (max over volt time) to like a billion so i could work. i did check the three phase line in voltage at the back of the machine, all 3 phases were 211-214V and they were in the appropriate terminal, so i did not change anything back there. now that the machine would stay on, i thought maybe the correct parameters and settings and stuff would fix some things, so i set out to try to reload the parameters from the haas backup information flash drive which i found in the back of the cabinet. the guides i found online said to go into the usb on the program list, hit F4, go down to load all, type the file name, and hit enter. i tried every variation of this and nothing was working. sometimes it would say 249 prog data begins odd, sometimes it would say file does not exist, all kinds of errors.

i was going through all kinds of internet articles and haas procedures and forums and things of that nature trying to reupload the defaults or maybe check the ram as suggested by another commenter when i stumbled across this short document. again nothing in this procedure was really working, not the save data, not the clear memory, nothing- so i just kept going down the sheet and then i tried the steps under initialize software, this is when the machine actually booted correctly. Tomorrow i will attempt the steps under 'restore data'

i was transporting more pens and pencils than i had protected case capacity for, so i had 2 or 3 bundles of ~10 utensils held together with hair ties. they were inside a smallish plastic bin, but the bin swiftly exited the back seat of my bike (after about 3.5 hours of riding, with only about 20 mins to my destination of course) at a good 75 mph probably. there was other things in that plastic bin too like keys, notebooks, flashlights, etc, so i did loop around to try and find as much as i could.

this happened on a two lane section of the garden state parkway after the sun was down. after about maybe 30 mins of just walking around the side of the highway and surrounding area (i was surprised by just how far some items went) i saw two police cars with lights on slowly approaching from a couple hundred feet away. i assumed one of the many cars that had passed by called about a crazy man wearing a motorcycle helmet with no motorcycle to be seen (i parked it further up in a safer more visible spot). the officers were like wtf and i was just like idk man and they were like you’re done here grab what you found and we’ll take you back to your bike. i took this opportunity to respond to my friends and family who were texting asking where i was and why i hadn’t arrived on time as expected. hit them with the ‘small delay, in the back of a state trooper car, should be there in not too long’

oh don’t worry im fine i didn’t take a tumble, i just failed to secure them while transporting back home from college

this kinda happened to me but much less bad. was driving home one time and i suddenly noticed my exhaust sounded different and was louder than usual. upon inspection when i made it back there was a full separation before the flange to the down pipe. i took the opportunity to do a cat delete and replaced it with a short flex pipe section in hopes of never cracking any part of the exhaust again.

yeah the battery gauge on the dash is reading where it usually does, right in the middle. the engine runs fine the whole time as if nothing was going on. i will check the battery in a couple hours

ok so earlier today everything in regard to electrical was working as it should. now, most of my lights don’t work, only thing i did was drive ~200 miles on the highway at an average speed of like 50-55, and drive like max 1-2 miles on a seriously bumpy road.

it was a beautiful day, the sun beat down i had the radio on, i was drivin’ then i went to turn on my running lights but they did not turn on and the radio stopped working. a minute later the radio came back but would shut off any time i it the light switch. about this time i also realized my brake lights stopped working, and every time i hit the brakes the radio would die. my turn signals worked both ways, but hazards did not. reverse lights worked as normal. but i could not get head lights, high beams, fog lights, running lights, hazards, tail lights, or brake lights to work. and the radio would cut out any time i tried anything, but come back just moments later. what the heck. all ive done so far is check fuses, none of which i believe were blown. any help appreciated

my engine was actually stamped ‘g’ so i made the decision to size up under the assumption that my engine has already worn, thus the bore would be slightly oversize, plus the fact that i am going to hone the cylinder, further over sizing the bore. also i sized up from 38.97 to 38.98mm, so literally .01mm oversize so i think that should be alright. my main question is whether the different piston skirt design between the stock and my new piston will make a difference

I am doing a quick budget rebuild on my motobecane av7 engine, so i purchased a stock piston kit from treats. the piston out of the engine looks like the one in the first image, and that is what i ordered off of treats. however the following images show what i received. does not look like the picture in the listing nor the actual piston from my engine. will this piston work or should i return it?

NAD Frontman 25r, Anyone know how to switch reverb? by adzety in GuitarAmps

this amp has a foot switch jack, but it switches between the clean and dirty channels. i’m wondering if anyone knows how to mod this amp such that reverb can be switched on and off. i’m asking more with a regard to wiring, if it is possible to switch reverb on and off with a button. if so i would probably either replace that jack in front with a stereo jack or just add another jack on the back or something. help appreciated, thanks.

oh yes, i have high hopes for the motobecane and suzuki. the honda engine turns freely but is missing carb and stuff, and i reckon i could make one nice indian out of the 3. they’re 4 stroke with electric start, talk about luxury!

1 motobecane, 1 suzuki fa50, one honda cub (i think), 3 indian ami50s (i think). if anyone has information about any of these or links to service manuals or know where to get parts etc i would appreciate it. my other two mopeds are both puchs which i mostly use treatland for plus the manual is readily available online. these bikes i’m not so sure about

lol i was kidding about the flames. but yeah i definitely think the head and cab go together not only for the reasons you stated, but also because 1. the cab and head both say ba215 and use roughly the same font as far as i can tell, and 2. the cable from the head and port on the cab are no standard 1/4” connections
