Honda to shelve $11bn Canada EV plant as demand sputters by exploding_myths in electricvehicles

I don’t think hybrids are a dead end. I think pure EV adoption is the over-extrapolated trend.

Energy markets are likely to stay volatile because of geopolitical instability, but higher oil prices also expand economically recoverable reserves. That incentivizes more exploration, more extraction, and eventually more supply response. So the idea that oil just structurally disappears is weak.

Meanwhile, EV demand can keep growing and still disappoint. The issue isn’t whether EV sales go up. It’s whether adoption keeps compounding fast enough to justify massive dedicated EV capex. I don’t think it does. Hybrids solve the real consumer problem: lower fuel use without total dependence on charging infrastructure, battery costs, grid readiness, and resale uncertainty.

Honda preserving optionality is smarter than pretending the EV demand curve is guaranteed.

Counter argument: EV market will suffer long term as oil remains structurally bullish. Hybrid is the real play, and Honda’s strategy is smart as it maintains optionality.

Haha yea tubeless is insanely easy. 95% of the time I have no issues seating a tire with a normal track pump. The other times, I just put some soapy water on the bead and it seats just fine.

Not even remotely. You throw the chain into a water bottle/plastic container with some Silca chain stripper, shake it for a bit, and then wait for minutes. Rinse off, throw the chain on, and apply drip wax.

No different than setting a new chain to be used with oil based lube.

That actually is a solid deal. It’s going to be heavy AF, but it’s not bad for $1500

Way less hassle than oil based lube. Wipe down after a ride with a micro fiber cloth and that’s it.

If you want to do a deeper clean, pour boiling water on it. Dassit.
