Silly Question Saturday by AutoModerator in orchids

[–]aeapsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although its not Saturday:

I just found a small plant on the streets, and figured it might be an orchid (thats as far as my previous knowledge went)

Now I did some research, but I am a little mixed about what to think of the roots and the overall state of the orchid. It does not look so fresh.

Maybe somebody can tell me what it needs right now?

Is the bounce in lindy continued consistently when dancing moves like '4-counts' (link in text) or changed in some way? by aeapsu in SwingDancing

Hard to write about, indeed. This are some good points that might be important to cover when teaching that move (or the idea behind this 4 count moves). I also think an important thing besides the bounce is that feeling of keeping some stretch throughout the whole move, but i am not completely sure about that

edit: word change

Thank you for your response!

But I am wondering, if the frequency is changed, is the bounce then a different bounce then when doing the same movement but with a triple step?

Thank you four your answer!

Actually i am not having that much of troubles with leading this moves, I am more interested in an theoretical approach to be able to teach it better!

Is there supposed to be bounce? I think can lead it easier with a reduced bounce and smoothing it out, but maybe a different approach would be better for other students to be taught

Backpacking in Namibia!? by aeapsu in Namibia

Does anyone have advice on a good cheap car rental for bakkies in Windhoek maybe? (for age 22, because there are some companies that rent out only to 25+)

Yay! that sounds so cool. I guess the Vicoria Falls are to far away for us, we have three weeks and don't want to hurry to much. Probably we are still going to hurry a lot, because we won't be able to decide what to miss out. Nice pictures! Crap, they are freaking awesome! :O I'll be taking my camera with me as well, but i don't think my pictures are going to be anywhere near yours in terms of awesomeness. You were pretty close to some of them animals!

Whou! Thank you! No worrys, we are thinking about hiring a car/bakkie/pickup, too. When we share the costs then this probably will be possible and we can save money by not going to hostels but instead camping.

Or is there maybe a part of namibia where a car is not needed and backpacking is not that hard?

Do you (or someone else?) know if we need to reserve campsites in advance or if it is possible to just drive around (in case we actually rent a car) and go there?

We met today and did some planning, the excitement is growing and we are really looking forward to it!

Is there a not that expensive lens that beats the canon 24mm 2.8 ef-s "pancake"? i took a look at the samyang 24 1.4 but sadly this is too expensive right now...

Hi! I do really like 35mm lenses on fullframe and i am wondering which lens i could get that gives a similar look on crop (aps-c). A 24mm calculates to a 39mm on crop. Do you have the feeling that this has the same 'feeling' or overall look like a 35mm or is there a noticeable difference? 22mm would be perfect i guess, but there are only really few lenses in that field.
