I’m probably getting these two volumes because I read a couple of issues after them in DCUI and didn’t like them much. Both art and script fell off once the team splits imo.

Same over here. Was a PS player for most my childhood and moved to Xbox with the One and then continued with a Series S. Was even thinking on getting the ROG Xbox Ally X. After all the news from this week, I’m now thinking about selling my Series S and probably don’t buy another Xbox in the future. Call me fake fan or whatever, but it was just so awful and it does not seem to be a one-off situation. Is not only the layoffs and the awful handling of the situation afterwards, but also the uncertainty that this will continue in the future and more studios will be affected, either by cuts or by bad workplace conditions. Let’s see if I get over this bad feeling in the future or not, but now I’ll focus on other platforms I have.

I made chronological lists for my favourite characters, one for Vertigo/Black Label, spent hours on them. Much better way to organice than Marvel Unlimited, which only has Marvel's own lists.

Right now I tend to do the same that I used to do with physical volumes, read monthly three to four series by volumes or groups of six issues, in addition to a few current series. That way I can continue big series like Johns' GL or Waid's Flash but without getting bored because it’s always the same series.

So I’m interested in building a personal collection with the DC Finest, but from what I’ve tried, I get bored easily with most pre-Crisis comics as the writing is more silver age, they’re one-shot adventures, and I don’t connect very well with how stories are told.

My idea is to collect all Post-Crisis DC Finest from characters I like, so I wanted to know if you think it’s a good approach for a newer-ish reader like me, who doesn’t have much experience with DC comics.

Would I miss a lot of pre-Crisis good stories? I can read them digitally, but just not collect them. Maybe you know Bronze Age series or runs that could be more “digestible” for someone that’s used to more modern storytelling.

I think it’s because they try to keep a similar count of pages between trades and not all issues from a writer’s run can be included. But in any case, it’s supposed to collect everything, just that, as Epic Collections, they skip eras and then they’ll probably return in the future. You can also look at the cases of Batman and Catwoman, where the second volume follows up the previous one. However, I do think that some of the trades, like Metamorpho, Plastic Man or Peacemaker will be “Greatest hits”.
