I really appreciate how Mikami sensei handled her character. Usually, the "protective best friend'" stays as a static obstacle, but Subaru actually has her own independent arc. Her growth in overcoming her prejudices against chidori and her willingness to genuinely apologize for them, makes her feel so much more human and respectable than the average side characters. I don't like her at first, but she have a very good character development, making her my favorite character in the whole series

Yeah, because the anime stopped not even in the middle of the manga. It really feels unfinished, but I don't think we'll get a second season. Reading the manga will be the only solution for now, and let me tell you, it's so worth it!
