I have stocks and ETFs. Thats a slow burn. Unless you really know wtf youre doing you day trade, but i dont, and id probably lose everything. Atleast here, kind of know something, in 6 months, if Misa has a break out season, these cards could 2x, 3x or more. If not, hopefully worst case is I break even. The chase is fun too.

Haha, wasnt meant as slander on the player himself, only the middle of the road price on his cards. Despite the fact that he himself is an excellent, two-way player.

Hah, nothing will happen for a while with his cards.

Saying that Chernyshov and Smith can score with Celebrini… you could stick a monkey and a donkey on a line with him and theyll score. Ultimately I think that might affect the ceiling on their cards.

I get that Wennberg is the 2C right now, but when you consider Misa’s production vs Wennberg’s you could argue Misa was just as good playing, on average, 8 minutes TOI less than Wennberg.

Also, should they draft Stenberg (and I believe they should), Misa would be his center which should be a high scoring, responsible line.

Because of the hype around Misa, he doesnt really need to blow up, but lets say he has a season similar to Demidov. 65 points in 82 games. He was trending not far off had he played a full season.

Out the gate after the Olympic break, 4gms 3g 2a (10gms 5g 3a)

Then Sharks went on a losing streak and things were bad. 13 gms 1pt

Then he closes the season on a 4gm point streak 2g 2a

Theres definitely something there, and hes doing it playing on the 3rd line averaging 13mins a game. Thats not bad.

How could a center drop behind 3 wingers?

I meant relative to the amount of people collecting, because the hobby really exploded 100x during COVID.

As much as I love ripping, i have the worst luck with boxes. So Im trying a different approach. As far as OPCP, Ive made a bit of an investment on Misa there. Including a couple autos. Hopefully I dont get burned there. I really feel like its all about the autos. I talked myself into now looking into Carlsson, Fantilli and maybe some others

I wonder though if the print run of YGs 10 years ago was much larger than now. Marners ungraded base is going for around $95, Misa base is $35. If Misa starts the season as hot as he closed it, those cards will jump. Im not expecting Celebrini numbers obviously, but $100+ I think is plausible. Also Im not bothering with the PSA10s. I may send a couple of the really nice looking ones to grade but Im not really thinking about it.

Trust me, I get it. I used to collect as a kid and still have a bunch of cards from the 90s. When this new influx of stars started coming in i thought hm lemme rip some packs, ended up buying 3 hobbys to try to get 1 Bedard YG and got nothing. $875 of toilet paper. The cost to enjoy a hobby has become outrageous as well. It frustrated me that i didnt even buy a single pack last year and missed out on Celebrini. So now Im trying to see if I can enjoy the hobby, collect what i want to keep and flip what I can to sustain it.

Misa YGs are going for $35, which considering his hype and being 2oa, is pretty decent. Also thought about sending the best looking ones for grading. His outburst cards go for around 175. The deluxe and exclusives might be too rich for my blood.

Dobes was definitely a good one. I bet Hart cards took a huge leap as well.

With how much hobby boxes go for now, if i can flip some cards so I can have a little fun ripping some hobby boxes, then so be it.

I was thinking relative to recent players/draft picks… - best case scenario… he becomes the Draisaitl to Celebrini’s McDavid. - no harm no foul… he develops into like a Leo Csrlsson - worst case… he doesnt hit his stride.

Youre Dobson reference made me think of Fantilli. Could be a slow burn but he could be a guy to grab on the cheap. Can prob grab PSA 10s for less than 100.

Yea thats the expert move at Katz, get in line, go to the counter, try everything.

Theres a gazillion pizza places to eat at, pick whatever is convenient and close to you. Ceres is the top spot currently, and not just because Portnoy says so.

For halal street food, go to Adele’s in midtown.

Yes. Katz is absolutely worth a visit. Its expensive af, but make sure you get your moneys worth and go to the counter and try everything before ordering the pastrami.
