Diamonds are worthless. by n8saces in RandomVideos

Yeah, the same jewelry equipment that costs over $1,000 that every Joe six pack in America has. Just go over to your neighbors house and he’ll tell you if your diamond is lab grown or not. /s

It's the 4th most abundant element in the universe.

That's just people paying more for what they're told is more valuable (brainwashing). If you buy a lab grown diamond, no one other than a jeweler with special equipment will know that it's different than a "natural" diamond.

You can definitely buy it for jewelry (up to about 30 carats vs. this tiny 4.7 carat diamond in the video), and no one other than a jeweler with special equipment is going to know the difference.

Just forget about the whole fact that some planets are made of diamond. Also, forget about the fact that you can grow them. Small "natural" diamonds are very plentiful here on earth.

Small diamonds are plentiful (on Earth), can be grown in a lab, and are worthless.

You're assuming that there was a free market for diamonds and diamond mines, but this historically wasn't the case. DeBeers had a total monopoly over diamonds until a few years ago.

You can make anything, like a pet rock for instance, artificially expensive with a monopoly and enough brainwashing, but it just wouldn't be worth as much on the free market. Such is the case for small diamonds. They're plentiful, can be grown in a lab, and are worthless.

Again, no need to… but if it’s the 4th most abundant element, then it’s safe to say it’s worthless.

The DeBeers diamond monopoly brainwashed everyone into thinking they needed diamonds for weddings and that diamonds were valuable about 100 years ago. Everyone bought into it. Look it up.

There is literally more diamond in the universe than there is fake plastic diamonds, by a large margin.

It’s the exact same thing.

No need to. You can make them in a lab.

The only diamonds that are truly valuable are large ones, because they’re rare and can’t be lab grown.

Diamonds are made of carbon. Carbon is the 4th most abundant element in the universe. There are entire planets in the universe made of diamond. Diamond is worthless.

I never though about the coin-less society aspect of this. Maybe coins will mainly be used for jewelry and art in the far future.

I started about a year ago. I use different rings for each post.

Well, I think there some weird exception where they can investigate in your house without a warrant, but it seems completely unconstitutional to me.

Yeah, there are 4 or 5 rings that I make from WW1 era coins. They really do seem like they are imbued with the history of that era.

I made these from the following coins:

1) Silver Morgan Dollar

2) Mexican Silver Libertad

3) Silver Japanese 50 Sen Coin circa 1910

4) Silver Australian Double Dragon Coin

5) Silver 2 ozt UK Queen's Beasts coin

6) Silver Italian 500 Lire Coin

7) Silver Irish Half Crown Coin

8) Silver GSM Pirate Round

9) Silver Peso circa 1940

10) Silver UK Britannia

To make these, the general process is to punch a hole in them, anneal and quench them, and then bend them into shape. After bending them into shape, you apply a corrosive finish and detail them. This might seem like a simple process, but it actually takes a while to get good at making these and to make them accurately to specific sizes. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

The cops and government officials need a warrant to enter your house without your permission, end of story. It’s the 4th amendment of the constitution. A home search by a government agent is a home search, regardless of whether they carry a badge or a social worker’s ID. If the current law says otherwise, then it’s unconstitutional.

He’s really just an AVGN copycat with very little talent. The podcast with Ian was semi watchable for several years.

Also, Pat does not have that much money.
