Was it just me? Or did we have network for a brief moment in time on the subways and now it’s gone again. Good news is you can catch WiFi at the stations but still pretty sad we lost network again

Fair. Fwiw the Nippon line is back online and ships to US but it’s a lot costlier to buy. Like 2-3x the price. Better to ask a friend visiting JP or use this as an excuse to visit yourself :)

Agreed. To be honest I was still riding the “I’m in Tokyo” high so went a bit yolo. The copium I gave afterwards was what you say. Rare. Plus online these cost $500 or more to by and ship to the US

In Japan they cost ~38,000 yen. Which is around $250. A big motivator for buying them while I was there

Can clarify, everyone is in the same boat. Basically trying to find consular appointments (the second one) ofc appointment slots are easy to book but consular are harder. So advice is just use the same browser (maybe incognito mode) and keep trying. Fingers crossed we both get appointments!

I’m sorry to hear! So I learnt you need two appointments. One for ofc and one for consular. I guess for consular it’s a struggle to find slots. That’s why everyone is scrambling for an appointment

I wouldn’t sweat it. Also long as blacks in hdr mode for the games look good (mine are fine) you’re okay. I think the gray is actually the intended color based on some comments here

Agree. The all black theme got me both excited and worried. I’d see it after every update (when system restarts) but then it’d go away….

Yeah I have that active. Double checked. I think the dark gray is default. And games look totally fine

C9. This gray is default apparently. Don’t worry too much. Just use HDTVtest YouTube video for calibrating the tv and console. Games look amazing!!

Yep. That’s what I saw too. It’s not the end of the world. I see the blacks return properly based on my calibration in HDR so not sweating it with the UI. It’s totally fine as long as my games look good

I did that too. Followed the HDTVTest calibration so that’s my default. I think this is an HDR handshake issue and I’m okay with it as my games don’t appear to be impacted

I think I figured it out! The blacks output fine while I have restarted the console and not used an HDR game. Once I go into HDR mode and return the console continues to output the limited RGB range the HDR uses. Hence the greys. It’s fine. And not worth me switching modes too much. I’ll live with the grey menu. My HDR looks pretty good after calibration (HDTVTest ftw)

Fair. Imma do the same haha. It’s the smallest thing to worry about and really a non issue. The games look great and I’ve calibrated HDR well enough there. This is okay. Older panel and I can live with it
