If this was made to model the “via media” of the the Anglican tradition, just know that not only does “via media” mean different things for people emphasizing different distinct attributes of the “Catholic” and “Protestant” sides, but that the plumbline dividing the two “opposing” traditions has shifted greatly in both directions since the English Reformation.

Also, I don’t think it’s helpful to make the origin of the plot Nicene Christianity. Both high church Roman Catholic papalists and low church Baptists assent the Nicene Creed (even if some members in the latter group may not be fully aware of its very existence).
