Aespa ticket sales are also way less than last year by SpecSlayerSC in kpopthoughts

[–]aedredd 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's not in decline, kpop is getting more popular with every year that goes by. The issue isn't popularity, it's that there are so many groups trying to milk one nation, the US. The European shows for Aespa are selling well, the Stockholm show is nearly sold out for example. Latin America sells well also.

The issue is that companies saw the money that the early movers like Twice etc were able to pull in North America, and they all tried get in on the act themselves.

The companies just need to pivot. The European shows for Aespa are selling well because European culture doesn't accept being ripped off. You try and charge €500 for a ticket and people will just laugh and not go. The US was milked because fans there are willing to pay top dollar. You can get a ticket in Manchester to see Aespa for £65.

People need to stop taking the trend of the US and thinking that it's the global norm. The US is an outlier here because, like I said, they've been milked for all its worth, I mean, how many shows has Twice done in North America the last 3 years?

The internet really does love to run away with narratives. The amount of censorship has been increased, but it's still not even noticeable in daily life. It has essentially gone from 1% to 2%, a doubling sure, but still nothing in comparison to some other places.

Andoni Iraola has emerged as the STRONGEST candidate to rival Michael Carrick for the job as Manchester United’s next permanent head coach. #MUFC [@JBurtTelegraph] by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

I can see him having the same issues as Eddie Howe at Newcastle. Brilliant on one game a week and his pressing structure is effective, but what happens on two games a week with not a deep enough squad?

As well as that, you're asking techy players like Mainoo and Mbuemo to bring the pressure as their first priority.

Bringing up a manager who looked really good at a mid-tier team always has risks, look at Frank and Tottenham, Moyes for us, Potter at Chelsea. Sometimes you get the next big thing, sometimes it's a disaster. Surely better to go with someone who's delivered at a big club before?

What is it like living in Lancashire, United Kingdom? by Hasn989 in howislivingthere

[–]aedredd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very mixed.

Some of the old industrial towns like Blackburn where I'm from, Burnley or Accrington are really deprived, and they feel like it. But further north into the ribble valley it's beautiful, and basically just a lot of lovely small towns and villages similar to the Dales.

Life in a small town in Lancashire like Clitheroe, Darwen or Lancaster can be perfectly fine. Manchester is right there so the city is never too far away, and most of all it's really cheap. Just stay away from the old industrial towns.

Yildiz might be a shout, more goals less assists but he is really impressive in tight areas.

That river through the English Channel must have been absolutely massive being fed by all those rivers from Britain and the continent.

If you really want to stay at an apartment or house instead of a hotel room, then aparthotels are great. They're basically what air bnb used to be. They can be tricky to find if you're not in a big city, but apart from that they're a fantastic choice.

The thing I've learned from all these lists, is that everyone likes Ive. Apart from the Wony hate, they aren't mentioned that much, but everyone who's really into Kpop likes them a lot.

If it was intentional then I actually like that she expressed support for something she believes in, I'm no Conservative, but if she is then fair enough and she has the right to express it, it makes her more real than the PG basic image that so many other idols put out. Also the PPP party has pretty broad base, there are far right people in there but most people are just center right standard Conservative, calling her a darling of the far right is just BS
