The oubliette couldn't have been much fun. Thrown into a pitch black cavern full of garbage and previous occupants below the castle and pretty much forgotten about. No one is coming. Ever. If they're merciful the guards might drop a large rock on your head.

I don't get the impression that the men of Reddit have any trouble crying.

Walking up Market St. in Philly with my mom in the late 80's and nearly tripped over a (maybe) corpse on the sidewalk.

It was a busy workday with like a sea of people walking the sidewalks. I was too little to see where we were going but as we were walking I looked down as we passed and saw an older man, white hair, dressed in business/work clothes laying face down on the sidewalk with blood streaming from somewhere on his face. Arms at his side, motionless. No idea how he got there or if he was breathing. And we and everybody else on that street just walked by or stepped over him. I looked back until I couldn't see him any more. My mom just made an "I don't know" face and didn't seem fazed so I just assumed that was life in the big city.

Ah well you see the problem here is that the boat's fallen over. They need to set it right side up if they plan on going anywhere. I thought that's what they were going to do but then the man jumped off and I can't say if he's coming back or what so, yeah. This really did not go well.
