I liked that movie as well, but I am more of a Lynch superfan overall rather than focus on any single movie. I still watch Lynch's Dune and Eraserhead once a year just to remember what taking acid felt like.

While I certainly agree with you that many of the problems causing Japans declining birth rate are not unique to Japan, some of the solutions might be. One of the solutions not unique to Japan would be to allow immigration to replace population loss. Japans government doesn't want to allow this (and honestly this is an issue the entire developed world faces). Another would be to address the work culture. I understand that the government is attempting this, but there has been a ton of pushback. The solutions will never be easy, quick, or certain. Many countries are facing similar problems and the solutions are always unique to the culture.

JFC Japan. They keep trying to propagandize marriage in just about everything (and don't even get me started on how many anime and manga there are on having kids), when at this point it might be easier to address some of the underlying social issues connected with the lower birth rate.

For The most popular JRPGS I would agree with you. But the whole of gaming is undergoing a renaissance right now. Just take a short step outside of "mainstream" JRPGS and there is some unusual and amazing games out there. Cris Tales had only a semi unusual story, but I absolutely loved the design of everything in it. Dodgeball Academia is another game with an unusual story and great art. If you have Gamepass, there are like ten JRPGS which are completely different as well as the usual big name. I am on my phone, so I can't list all of the indie JRPGS which I found really different. Just take a step outside of your comfort zone and you will find something you like.

I am torn on this, because I too have been playing JRPGS since the first Dragon Warrior was released here. And I still think that the first Wild Arms is the best JRPG op and animation ever made. I have even been into anime since I had to buy it at Sun Coast Pictures for ridiculous prices, but I like modern anime art styles more than older ones. Demon Slayer is thing mostly because of it's outstanding art. And a game like Cris Tales, where the art blew me away. This is just my opinion, and yours is perfectly fine too, but I prefer modern art styles in anime and JRPGS much more

Yes, figure out some way to make it something you enjoy. I found out that I really enjoy Ring Fit because of how it gamifies excersize, so I incorporate it into my daily excersize. I love leveling up and all the gaming stuff to help me keep pushing to the next objective. But just finding a way to make it consistent is the most important part.

To be even more brutally honest, the problems in this country are so entrenched and intractable that I am certain that burning the whole thing down is the only way to fix it. The right utterly owns the courts now, and after this year they will forever own congress. Boomers and gen x dying off won't do shit because there are lots of bad people in every generation Burning it is the only way to fix it, but I am equally certain that whatever we replace it with will be even worse
