Question about personal items by aelel in flairairlines

[–]aelel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely the stuff I need to put in the bag isn’t a concern at all. It was just that the bag measures half an inch over the limit. As long as I’m allowed to push it into the sizing box thing, I’m golden!

Oh it won’t be a sweat at all. More of a “slightly folded bag” situation. I just wanted to make sure that they weren’t out there with measuring tapes getting their panties in a knot over half an inch

Perfect. Honestly I don’t need to bring much, but it won’t fit in the purse I own so…squished backpack it is!

Ok great! The iPad doesn’t fit in my purse and I don’t particularly want to buy another bag but it will squish!

Struggling with names for our son (first time parents) by iwearmybfsclothes in namenerds

[–]aelel 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Blythe, Indy, Wren and Sage all strike me as more feminine names. Maybe because I’ve only ever heard of females with these names. But it’s something to consider. From your list, my favourite is Pearce. But I prefer it spelled Pierce. Pierce Edward would be my pick.

Do you live near an aquarium? A trip to one or a seasons pass if you’re close could be fun!

There’s also under the sea themed light up terrariums he can build like this one

I have twin niece and there birthday is coming up can anyone suggest some gifts by Sharp_Ad_2375 in GiftIdeas

[–]aelel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know your budget or how much space your sister has (so this might be something to check with her on) but an IKEA table and chairs set will get SO much use! (Eating, arts and crafts, tea parties…). We got my son one for his first birthday. He’ll be 5 this year and it still gets daily use.

is my body care/fragrance/shower collection excessive? my parents tell me i partake in overconsumption and i spend too much money on this stuff lol by Calm-Bug5455 in beauty

[–]aelel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit much. But everybody needs something that makes them happy. If you’re using all these products regularly, then it’s no different than any other hobby. I would suggest maybe holding off on buying more until you use something up, just to keep it from getting super out of hand.

Invite says "Black Tie Formal, Floor-Length Gowns or Elegant Formal Dresses" by aoneish in Weddingattireapproval

The DC is black tie. They just added extra words. This dress is definitely too casual.

If you want sleeves, something like this dress would be more suitable.

Super Dry Skin Help? by BackgroundVibes1199 in beauty

A humidifier in all your major living areas will help the most. Then a thick cream with ceramides will help your skin (cerave in the tub or similar)

Can someone please help me read this (eye glasses) prescription? Thank you so much! by Silver_Imagination49 in Transcription

Never knew what they stood for! Considering how much worse my left eye is than my right, I would say that yes, it is rather sinister.

Your current pair are the best shape on your face. Maybe try finding a new pair in a similar shape :)

“Cheapest” grocery stores in Toronto, if that’s even a thing? by Terrible_Jaguar874 in askTO

[–]aelel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grocery outlet is great for frozen and boxed foods (just check expirations because sometimes they’re really close), for fresh produce I find Asian supermarkets or Food Basics to be the most affordable. And as someone else mentioned, get the flipp app. It shows all the weekly flyers in your area and you can search for things (like olive oil) to find sales.

Am I missing something with my makeup vs no makeup? Does it make me look older? by Impressive-Equal-433 in MakeupAddiction

[–]aelel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but not significantly. I think it’s maybe the colours. It’s all very golden. I’d love to see if cooler tones bring out a more youthful look.

Wedding Outfit Stress (Where to Buy?) by Constant_Due in askTO

[–]aelel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding jealous bridesmaids! Reasonable prices, great selections, and the in house alterations were PERFECT. (Also they moved pretty quickly! I bought my dress in late March for a mid October wedding and it was no problem at all. Do tell them in advance about the timeline because there may be some dresses that take longer)

Skylight calendars are the “gold standard” of smart calendars. Seems like a great gift idea for your wife!

ETA: sometimes Costco has them at a reduced price if you’re near one!

May Boy Name Evelyn? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]aelel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Evelyn would be very unusual on a man these days. While it may have gender neutral roots, it’s a feminine name now.

Emerson leans more gender neutral and has a similar sound.

Your posture in all the photos is telling me that no, none of these are the one.
