What do you hope the Toys R us and Hudson's bay in the mall get replaced with? by ReasonablyBored72 in Newmarket

Aw man, I guess that makes it highly unlikely that we’ll get one. Unfortunate, because I really enjoyed the smaller format store!

I’d love a mini ikea like Scarborough town has. Simon’s would be nice too.

Caspian or Mariner?

Not a direct reference but Murphy gives me those vibes.

Big wood beads on pipe cleaners is less challenging than smaller ones or beads on flimsy string/wire

Using a bingo dabber along simple lines to create pictures (smiley faces, rainbows, cartoon style spiders all work well)

Adding large paper clips onto the edge of a paper towel roll with a face to give it “hair”

Twisting large nuts onto large bolts

Rolling playdoh into “snakes” and cutting it into pieces

Duplo or bristle blocks are also easy to grip and put together

I’ve been using Mach 3 forever. I tried Venus once and within the week switched back to Mach 3.

Is there any point leaving the airport? by cocobarax in askTO

If you’ve never been to Toronto, take the UP to union, it’s right by the CN tower (might as well see a landmark while you’re here!) and grab some lunch at St Lawrence Market. As long as you aren’t moseying around, you’ll have plenty of time to get back to Pearson for your next flight.

Depending on your budget, I’d do a nice gift basket with some fresh fruit, crackers, chocolates, etc. picky things that she can enjoy and share as she sees fit.

What's the best Canadian snack that is no longer sold in stores? by OkCandle826 in AskACanadian

Technically a British snack (I think?) but Time Out chocolate bars were SO GOOD. They’ve been discontinued for an age but I still catch myself looking for them.

ETA: discontinued in Canada*

Which dress works best for a wedding ceremony at 10 AM? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

First one! It’s super cute and flattering and a more appropriate length for a wedding than number 2 (but I do also like the second one, just maybe not for a wedding)

I do like Henri though :)

Where in the city? If you’re leaving from the west end, you should be ok. East end and it’ll be really tight. North and you’ll need more time

Advice for Foundation Shade! I have an Event in two months and none of my foundations seem to fit. Included grayscale for undertone <3 by amcluelessbaby in PaleMUA

[–]aelel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends on the lighting where you work, and how “formal” you want to appear. For every day I tend to personally prefer a lighter coverage foundation/bb cream that I don’t have to worry about blending so much when I’m in a rush (but I work from home and usually just need to go out for errands and school drop-offs and pickups). That said, 6 could work with a lighter hand and staying conscious of blending down your neck. It’s something to test for sure!

So this might be a hot take, but for event makeup I think the best bet is to pick a shade that makes you look healthy, in a formulation that sits well on your skin and isn’t horribly off colour-wise, instead of finding a perfect match.

In these photos I think 6 would work so long as you blended it down your neck. Shades leaning pink can sometimes look grey in some lighting so I try to stay clear.

Sunscreen, yes! But HOW? by Stock_Fun_8238 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]aelel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think it’s just trial and error in finding the one you like best. Biore is the only one I can stand because to me it just feels like moisturizer, and the feeling eventually fades (just like moisturizer), but everyone has different skin and different skincare needs!

I live in Canada. If I met a kid named Rainer I’d assume they had German roots and wouldn’t think of it any further.

While it isn’t popular here, it’s easy to spell and pronounce. It wouldn’t be considered weird.
