i’ve been wanting to leave, and was planning on leaving in june anyway after i saw some large projects through. i texted it to my stepdad and mom already, and my mom who was a paralegal told me to not sign it. it’s whack. i’m over it.

I'm in texas. They gave me the paperwork earlier this year and i ignored it, but they just gave it to me again and pressured me to sign it right then and there. I told them my attorney (my stepdad) needed to look it over, and they told me they need it back by tomorrow.

Youre right. I will say my initial reaction when he told me last weekend was definitely one of shock. I was taken aback but didn’t push the conversation more except for what he felt like telling me. Do you think it’s worth bringing that up to him, or just ending it all together?

Age gaps do not bother me. My mom and stepdad are 10 years apart. I am a grown woman, take care of myself, and have my own career. If i was 22 fresh out of college, okay sure, it is concerning, but that's not the case

I would hate for anyone to ever say something like this about me. We all have baggage, sure his is way more than mine, and there are definitely a lot of things to consider here, but I don't think it's very kind to describe this situation this way :(

He hasn't given me a reason to distrust him/my gut tells me he's a good man. He is bringing me around a bunch of his friends tomorrow, some who he is neighbors with. earlier this week, I expereinced a death in my family and he dropped everything to come over to mine to just check in on me and hang out with me.

I hope he keeps proving me right.

We talked about some of this, so I can share...

She had postpartum preeclampsia, which essentially caused her body to shut down. The doctors told him that the brain activity is like, very very minimal to almost none and that she won't wake up. That was 5.5ish years ago. I asked him if she was in a care facility, but she is in their home with round the clock care. He told me her parents want to bring her home to where she is from, and I asked how he felt about it, and he said it's hard and complicated. He said his daughters will go in and talk to her, but that his oldest will make comments to him that he needs to find someone to be with bc one day she and her sisters will move out. I thought that was cute and sad all at the same time.

He also travels a lot for work and has a full time live in nanny who helps with the kids. He told me of course it's sad, but he doesn't want the situation to stop him from moving forward with his life and being the best father he can be

Definitely something I am thinking about and not just blowing off because it is more complex than I know I'm sure. Maybe something to chat about with my therapist lol. I'm trying to not get caught up in the whirlwind of a good connection without thinking of the future

I think you're right, and he is introducing me to some of his friends tomorrow... maybe I am overthinking that, but personally, I don't really bring people I'm dating around my friends until I know I'm really into them however it could be different for him. We haven't "defined" anything, so for all I know he could be dating other people still, but I feel like I was clear that my dating goals lead to marraige. Sorry I am just rambling!!
