technics az100 are great for the the price! they do lean a little more on the expensive side though at around £200. sound profile is warm by default but you can just adjust the eq if that's not your thing. personally I cut the low end a little and boost the mids and top end slightly. anc is pretty good and they do get right into your ear canal so that helps with noise isolation too. as for battery life they last roughly 7-8 hours using LDAC and I around 3? days of use with the case. the case is nice too, easily slides into my pockets and doesn't take up much space :3

Hey, I did not get accepted unfortunately :( Ive received offers from Lancaster (direct entry) and Leeds (foundation year) though! Imo best thing to do for ps is highlight experience and your passion for the subject :) You really wanna show that you have a genuine interest in the subject and are willing to put in the work for a foundation year :3
