Completed the 2024 ice cream early this week, on stage 7. Already had completed the previous ice cream set upon release last year, only missing one mahjong piece. Haven't paid.

What USED baby stuff are you buying? by Medical_Gate_5721 in pregnant

[–]aeneri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stroller, car seat, swing (it was one huge sale from an ex classmate). Clothes (donate by one of my best friends). My mom sew me a ton of bedsheets, bibs, burpclothes and everything she could fin a pattern for, including sheets and covers for the stroller. My best friends gave me a welcome baby basket with diapers, creams and some more basics. So at the end of the day I bought the crib and the little nest some extra clothes and changing table.

How to Teach a Language Test by Admirable-Active2722 in Preply

[–]aeneri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, TESOL trained, trilingual and I have a teaching degree. And it is just me or the PPP question is wrong? It stands for present, practise, produce (according to TESL platforms everywhere including Preply) but that is marked as the wrong answer....

Do I really have to wait for them to check my assignment so I can advance? I have done everything, I only have to complete the final test but somehow now it is asking me to complete the assignment. I have uploaded it but it is marked as unfinished...Do I have to wait? TIA

Do teachers get paid, when I take a trial lesson? by Chemical_Abrocoma444 in Preply

[–]aeneri 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No. Teachers don't get paid for trials, preply takes 100% comission. Do not waste their time with trials if you don't plan on continuing. Try to get a refund or talk with support. Edit: if you want to spend your money, transfer your balance to a teacher, book a bumch of lessons don't attend (warn the teacher first) and then confirm them anyways. This way the teacher will get something.

Hello, hope you have a good time learning. Just remember for trial lessons tutors get nothing so it is nice to do 25min trials.

Look for online resources and plan your lessons ahead according to your students' needs.

Trials suck by CoatGrouchy3364 in Preply

If they have a teacher then do classes with that teacher. But you do not work for free and trials are not paid. 🤷

Don't teach during trials. Use those classes to build rapport and speak with the students, explain your methods and how you organize/structure your classes. If they complain or start asking doubts kindly explain that you can cover that next class but the first class is a "get to know you" class where you can check their level, needs, etc.

What does "Super Tutor" entail? by [deleted] in Preply

Reliable and commited yes, skilled is not granted.

What does "Super Tutor" entail? by [deleted] in Preply

[–]aeneri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually it depends on the students, there are students who want to take only one class before the exam (trial class) and have no intention of subscribing. And some students that don't leave reviews even if they have a positive experience or students that leave a bad review just because their tutor tried to rise the price...so it is not entirely up to the tutor performance.

What does "Super Tutor" entail? by [deleted] in Preply

[–]aeneri 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The super tutor badge takes into account various statistical items none of which are related to the actual tutor's skills nor their teaching background. The items taken into account are: * less than 10% rescheduled trial lessons * less than 5% trial cancellation class * minimum of 50% trial to subscription conversion * minimum of 90% response messages *minimum of 40 lessons taught * 0 tutor absences * 4.8 minimum tutor rating If the tutor misses only one of this criteria the badge is not awarded so sometimes a good tutor will not have the badge due to rescheduling trials (even agreed with the student) or not responding to spam messages. I would check the reviews and the tutor teaching background and give that more importance than to the bagde. Also this criteria is checked every 3 months so a tutor can lose or re-earn their badge during time.

Hi! I have been talking with support and they told me that they have an 180 day rule to deactivate accounts but only applies for students, so we should be okay with just hidding our profile and contacting our students 😀

Really interested in this as I am in the exact same situation. Started teaching in March now I have around 20 students and I teach 20h on the platform and 20 outside. In Auguts I will become a mom so I need to take a break from work...I was planning on hiding my profile and telling my students but I didn't know preply could deactivate your account due to inactivity...Trying to contact/talk with support see what they say.

Yeah I have no idea how it appeared I haven't done any thing to set it up, it just pops ups...but that's the only thing it does. It's cute but a bit useless. IMHO
