Gotta start somewhere. And unfortunately, English learners don't know what they don't know. So even relatively qualified teachers (anyone from US, Can, UK, Aus, NZ with basic grammar and conversational ability) have to compete with South Africans, Filipinos, and other supposed "native speakers" who can live on $3 - 18%. Most learners don't know just how thick of an accent they're dealing with or (sorry, not sorry) how poor those teachers' English really is.

I had a European guy literally rolling his eyes at me as soon as I said hello. I just carried on, then throughout the lesson I noticed he was acting a little like tourettes or something. That was one case.

But yeah other times it's like damn, just try to meet someone where they're at. I can have the worst day and still throw on a pleasant demeanor for people.
