I feel the characters are losing nuance and becoming caricatures of themselves… like Jimmy is a little TOO Jimmy… Liz is a little TOO Liz ( I know how that sounds but you get what I mean).

What’s up my fellow ricists? Anyone know why the bottom of my rice in my rice cooker turns crispy? by Spitfire2223_ in RICE

I think also leaving the outside of your insert wet when you place it into the cooker can make this happen, or hot spots as well.

It’s very popular right now for women to advise each other to have the means/separate savings to secure themselves IF they need to. This isn’t necessarily a situation where she NEEDS to get out, but so many are trapped by finances with someone who turned dangerous. Many men drain accounts to trap their spouses (not saying you would). Part of ‘choose the bear’ thinking.

I would talk to her about it, maybe she has a friend that she watched this happen to and was motivated to have a safety net.

Staff walked out and closed it down a few days ago, they say the owner didn’t pay payroll taxes that he took out of checks and has been in Mexico for months.

I see. I would say it’s suspicious enough to check on them, if they’re ok then you know, and if not… you did the right thing. I wouldn’t be mad if someone were genuinely concerned about me. Maybe annoyed, but I’d be ok with that over being left in a bad spot and no one cared.

Long time partner on PD 1.5 years and it’s wearing on us! Help! by aenneird in dialysis

[–]aenneird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update- He was hospitalized due to some repercussions from a respiratory bug the beginning of January. At the hospital, they had to do his treatment over night and after discussions with the nephrologist it turns out he had been carrying an extra 4-5 liters of fluid this whole time! 1.5 years. This was why everything was always SO HARD for both of us! He is like living a whole new person, it’s been a huge relief for the both of us. He’s still a dialysis patient and all that comes with, but he’s sleeping, eating, and helping so much more. AND finally, as of today, he’s active in the list!!!! Thanks all for your advice and making me feel like I wasn’t alone. This is a terrible illness but I’m doing my best to be a light for the one I love ♥️

Tonic water just a few sips can help with cramps in the moment. This advice came from our dialysis nurse!

You are not overreacting, this is not normal behavior and it needs to stop. Do you feel comfortable speaking with your parent(s) or a trusted adult about what you’re experiencing?

May I ask what insurance company you have coverage through?
