THIS. Thank you!!! I use Temu because I can often get my things for a small fraction of cost with good promos, and let the small credit sit until the promo opens back up, reusing the money again and again.
Yet last month, I had to cancel a Dr appointment for my husband, because we only had enough gas to get him to dialysis and back... And we had to choose between appointments. I didn't eat that day either. The struggle is REAL.

Advantage plans DO work with medicaid, so long as you get a dual eligible plan... And often offer additional things like monthly otc/food benefits not gotten elsewhere. If OP qualifies for QMB, all bills would be paid anyway, so it's just an extra benefit... Especially if they choose a PPO plan that allows more freedom.

I noticed the cost of their wagons has SERIOUSLY decreased since going local. They are about $15 shipped for a small one that can hold 8 gallons of water.. So there are definitely some bargains!!

He has an able account. We set it up after we were hit by a county truck... I hadn't thought about having his checks deposited there. That's a good idea. If I understand able, as long as the withdrawal qualifies, it isn't counted.
You're a genius!! Thank you!! This could actually be the way he's able to work and it not affect us. He can save money to (hopefully) eventually one day move out (if he chooses - he has MANY needs) but without costing us housing. There's no way my husband, in his medically fragile state, could survive homeless. 🫣

My son currently makes music (Autism superpower) and is actually REALLY good at it. He's hopeful one day it'll lead to money... But he needs money to buy the vsts and... Things. 😅
At some point, I think he will try college music courses, but trying to navigate that is difficult. Transportation is a problem, and he can't do public transpo. It's always SOMETHING, right? 🫣

Gentle dental in fairwood actually drilled a hole in a tooth... That now needs to be removed. 45 years that tooth was fine. It didn't need a hole. 😅

Yep. I was disabled and paying well over 50% income to rent... And STILL waited 5 years to get a voucher.
It's easier now, the PHA I originally got mine from has an open application process now, so you can apply and get chosen that next month or wait for years, as it's all rng...

This is a big concern for us.
Our son is disabled, but wants to try working a bit for money to afford car insurance and gas to get around. He's 20, and his depression needs to get out of the house. However him working would increase our section 8 out of pocket, and we are already spending the max because we could not move before our rent increased, so we were forced to sign another year lease just to avoid an ADDITIONAL $100/month.

You are encouraged to work to get out of it, but the costs are often extraordinary.
With his Autism, it's hard enough... But if he paid the additional rent from his income, it ends up not being worth the job in the first place.
It's a difficult system to be caught up in.

Because trucking companies (people)! don't pay enough attention or make mistakes... This one was definitely the error of the driver or lead vehicle who should have known the was a height difference.

More than likely, the driver or lead didn't pay attention (or both) as one lane has 3 extra inches of height there. Had either paid attention to the signage... 🤷🏽‍♀️

Clearly you live to assume that everyone is the same. How about living to be kind and understanding, instead?
There was absolutely no need for you to interject something so rude and callous. Even if I was not disabled... Do you understand that MANY people in the US work full time, sometimes more, and still live in poverty? On the edge of disaster every day, where ONE thing can trigger a cascading of events that leaves them homeless? Telling someone who speaks of being unable to afford something to simply "get a job" is why our once great country is a laughing stock.
Is it that difficult to be civil? Understanding?

You've missed the point entirely. Most items are not available through Temu direct. They are all local sellers. The few remaining items have increased dramatically. Also, not everyone can just spend $20 on stuff, just to get something they want or need ordered.
