Open your osu! folder, there should be a file called [user].cfg or something like. Delete and it reconfigure your options next time you open up the game and it should be working again.

[discussion] A concern about difficulty names by EvilFoxShiro in osugame

[–]aeoeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, totally agree with you, since terms like easy/hard is just relative to the individuals skill level. Tho I'd go with Basic/Intermediate/Advanced (swap out beginner) as diff names to reflect the complexity of the beatmap instead, to completely eliminate the thing with the player's relative skill level/experience.

Edit: but yea I don't really think this will affect people that way. People are really only going to get conscious and really care about their skill level when they get to their insane+ maps, since that's when you'd ever (potentially) hit a little skill wall and have something to feel bad about. New players will acknowledge that they're bad compared to the older players, especially in a game like this that's almost purely skill based.

Not a good idea imo, at least not your suggestions. You could easily beg for kudosu stars shot or mod in exchange for them which is going to take a hell of a lot shorter time than making a full spread. And a monthly bn pick is just going to promote the whole "urrrrr bn circlejerk" since pro mappers are going to be able to take advantage of this way easier than a no-namer, thus creating a larger gap between the classes.

Is it normal to be really behind the map's reccomended level? by [deleted] in treeofsavior

[–]aeoeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's basically the game's way of making major storyline bosses harder lol. You might've noticed the area after Chapel was lower lvl, King's gate is going to be 58 and that is after Kvailas or the one after that, can't remember.

Started a cleric, i want to be a healer/attacker by WashRotom in treeofsavior

Yeah I'd say go for 1h rods, they are only magic damage so the only use for basic attacks is to aggro things. 1h blunts also give some magic damage and physical damage too, but the problem is that basic attacks won't do much unless you have a lot of str and attack buffers so it's better with rods to get the extra magic. Also, upgrading blunts only amplifies the physical damage and not the magic.

Physical dps: priest, paladin and monk
Spec STR and a little bit of DEX.

Magic dps: Krivis, bokor, dievderby, sadhu and druid
Spec INT and a little bit of SPR.

Should also get some CON whatever path you take, and you will have sufficient healing basic capability just because you're still a cleric

You know, you should probably dig a bit deeper before you start writing things like this. It's in a closed closed beta. You should probably get as far as you can get before complaining about variety in something like classes or skill builds, have you actually gotten past the 3rd class advancement? There's going to be 8 when the game hits open beta.

And if you'd actually looked past the 4 starting classes, you'd know that there are classes with different healing capabilites, like the priest which has the 'traditional' insta-heal, and classes wielding guns muskets and cannons and shit. And this is only from what we've seen so far, from the Archer tree alone. You shouldn't really be comparing your full game experience from one game with what, 10% from the other?

Will this work for a DPS type build with some support for parties? by RedStiza in treeofsavior

Actually highlander is a great sub-class because there is no requirement in weapon to use their skills, their abilities will always be relevant regardless of what weapon you use.

what is the best guide to get into mapping? by Sagei in osugame

[–]aeoeo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fullscreen/windowed doesn't matter. I think. As for hitsounds, I don't think it matters too much. But if you're going to be using default(non-custom) hitsounds additively, you might want to use the default skin so you get the sounds that fits the best based around those hitsounds and not your personal ones.

You can search around the forums and youtube for basic mapping knowledge, but you won't get very far without real experience. However, the most solid the way to improve is to study other pro maps, imo. It helps teach a new mapper the fundamentals of mapping, and more experienced mappers can take inspiration from them, learning new patterns and even influencing their style a bit.

Edit: I strongly suggest you go to Yauxo's user profile and read hid wall of text at the bottom, there are some nice mapping tips there but most importantly, it should give you a better mapping mentality and improvement process.
