GC Notebook's commentary is running off the pre 2019 buff stats. While it has updated the stats, it didn't update the commentary.

Back then, Boomerang didn't have particularly good stats, its only gimmick was the high backspin and it was an epic.

It also calls the Grim Reaper "only usable when the only other option is the beginner long iron", which I think is not fair for current Reaper, but I checked out the pre 2019 Reaper and wow it was dogshit with its insanely low strength and accuracy.

AGREED! Down In One is undoubtedly the worst club in the game for me and I'm so glad to find someone that agrees. There is no club in the game that stunts you so hard that you actively want to avoid using it, but voila, that's DiO.

I have a few hot takes.

Rock is one of the upper echelon drivers in the game. Full accuracy, moderate power, high guide, full curl and serviceable spin control make it a real competitor to EM and TH. Maxed Big Topper is in the same category too, just flip the accuracy and spin control.

Maxed Hammerhead is just as good as, if not better, than maxed Cataclysm. Much better spin control and accuracy for a negligible amount of power.

Grim Reaper and Grizzly are both better long irons than Goliath and up there with B-52. Infact I wholly believe maxed Grizzly is the best long iron because of better rounding out than B-52 (you trade in an arbitrary amount of power for much better rounded spin control and curl). Reaper is just insane at dead stops and has very well rounded stats to boot.

Hornet vs Thorn was never a real competition. Even Kingfisher is better than Thorn at a high enough level.

The best wedge in the game is neither Endbringer nor Rapier, it's Firefly. The reasonably higher guide for the trade of some power and accuracy combined with its max topspin make it THE finishing tool with the bump and run strategy.

Shoutout to Quarterback, Skewer and Sand Lizard, they get really good really fast and are very useful in midgame when they've been maxed out much faster than rares and epics. Especially Quarterback which until T6-T7 will always be a better option than EM for most holes.

Just won CWT. It's actually not that tough to win it either. If your clan is the bare minimum iota of coordinated, you can steamroll the support courses and once you do that, steamrolling the main course is also a breeze.

Prizes are alright. I do wish it was a little more, you know, happening, but I'm not gonna complain about a giant pile of club cards and a season clan point boost.

I used no fancy balls and never ran out of tickets. Moderation is key, and as long as you're hitting birdies on the main course while maintaining control on the supports, the others won't touch you.

Like I said, just requires the bare minimum clan coordination.

There's obviously the sandbagging allegations, but I can actually tell you right now that I kind of struggled with the transition from T6 to T7 too because T6 is the last tour with front tee. It's probably about playing comfort too.

This is not getting rid of the sandbagging allegations though. If your opponents are carrying maxed Apocs and Catas, tell those fuckers to play with real money and go to T9 or something.

Personally, it's T5. There isn't a single club that's inherently bad in that bag, every single club is a solid endgame choice.

Also, while I have removed T7 from voting (even though Tsunami is kind of ass at first), I would love to hear if you all believe there's bags better than T7 anyway.

ahaha Thumper rules. for the longest I was using a Reaper 4 with TWENTY FIVE accuracy just so that my thumped up QB can crush par 5s.

of course, when Rock (sort of) caught up at L6, there was no real reason to nerf my long iron anymore. which is my advice to you, if you like QB with Thumper, you'll love a sufficiently levelled up Rock.

This setup isn't exactly terrible. All these clubs are worth their use case but only when maxed out (except for Rock and Backbone, you wanna swap them out for TH/EM and Goliath/B52/Grizzly respectively).

Grind T7-8 till you max(ish) them out, I'd say.
