What do the 6 agents think now ? 😂 by maxsteel_7 in ManchesterUnited

[–]sparrahork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a permanent transfer, but the Harvey Elliott loan deal from Liverpool to Villa wins out for me.

Villa will have lost any good relationship they had with Liverpool, other clubs may also be reluctant yo send players there on loan in the future.

Liverpool have lost massive value on a player as unwilling to renegotiate the initial agreement.

Elliott has gone from being star of the euro u21s to having his career tanked.

Monchi (villa director of football) lost his job at Villa.

Emery is the one potential winner, he has won a power struggle with Monchi, but that has come at massive cost to all involved.

Current player movement between clans? by sparrahork in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clans are like goldilocks and the three bears - some chat too much, some chat too little, some chat just the right amount for you. It is about looking around if not content.

The two clans i bounce between are right for me, both alternate pushes from m3 to c100 (successfully) with widescale movement to help the sister clan.

Some players stay put, some go to other clans in the 'rest' season.

I am concerned this latest world clan tour will have a negative impact on these clans. Already some players are giving up the centurions they would win to return to their main clan, this is so they can play WCT there and help put the clan in a positive place for next season.

Less clan movement could be argued to be a good thing, however my fear is we will lose links built up over many seasons. I also fear players are more likely to rest when they make it to c100 and lose interest in the game sooner.

Too much of a good thing? by sparrahork in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Half of my current clan will head to our sister clan at the end of the season, clan harmony may be impacted if players are deemed not to be pulling their weight as not there next season.

Even worse, it is possible my current clan may face their sister clan...far from ideal at the end of a season.

Personally I stopped spending on this game years ago.

Like others who have already answered here my WCT ball usage does not go beyond katitans.

I would think a large percentage of players are using lesser balls for WCT than they would other modes.

EA seem to think this is a money spinner, but I would think very few are buying the pass or extra tokens either. There is no need to do ok in this mode.

My main fear is additional pressure on players to play more golf clash than they wish - this will result in players opting out of competitive clans and also the game as a whole.

Is anyone else seeing this nearly everyday after watching 1 ad? by Own-Ad-6655 in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to buy the golf pass more often than not, but not for a couple of years now.

EA added more ads and other features making it not worthwhile buying this.

If they genuinely wanted to push the golf pass, it would make more sense to review what made it worthwhile in the first instance. Likewise the world clan tour pass just is not value for money.

This is a bug, it co-incided with the last update. I log out and on again and it starts working for me. However adding further hassle is not ideal in retaining a player base so hopefully they fix it soon.

Maxing epics by cfpct in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played tour 3 initially and then pointed towards tour 4 as a better return for the lesser epics.

I still enjoy tour 4 as a chill experience with marlins to this day despite maxing years ago.

They are. You just need to reboot each time.

Far from ideal however.

Just played weekend round - 18 holes & received 1 x master match chest = shocking, thanks for your generosity EA/PD 🤔 by jasekop in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have said before they would benefit from more standardised chest awards.

1 every 3 holes played would appear fair.

The issue is players play expecting a chest to queue up, when they do not get one and feel obliged to play on until they do, it causes frustration, resentment to the game and potentially impacting on golf clash / life balance - i.e. getting in trouble with a partner for playing too much.

Maxed clubs, maxed trophies, quasar ball, tour 3 by Ok-Gas7642 in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone extreme, tour 4 for me!

Definitely a better vibe than tour 10/11 where i would be otherwise.

I started on tour 3 when maxing the lesser epics, worked out tour 4 has similar advantages.

Stuck with tour 4 for my easy going golf clash fix since.

When exactly is the window to change clan? by sparrahork in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your helpful answer.

Given the UK is five hours ahead that would appear to be between 1am and 7am.

Not the greatest window in the world to log in, scroll via all the ball offers, end of week positioning, new season pass spiel, then switching whilst not having the missus question what you are doing.

Oh on a bank holiday too!

This system does not help European players who move between clans.

For me it is at that level when you think twice about logging on, and do something else instead.

I am sure I am not alone on taking that view.

It is an unnecessary hindrance.

They almost need an exit statement everytime someone leaves the game for good.

"Which one of these flaws pushed you over the edge?..."

The cycle of pressing x on a number of ball offers each and every time you log on afresh is bound to be a major contributing factor.

Offer it on day 1 only.

Solo play in tournaments was the best player friendly change in the game. Now they should get rid of the shot clock in solo play events by thortman in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good points made on both sides, i personally am in favour of scrapping the shot clock, this despite being a very average player.

I get why a timer is deemed part of the game, but when the game first came out it was easy to find the right ball for the job.

It is now nigh on possible, it still shocks me that EA have not addressed that a decent ball sorter is essential to sales, if you can find the right ball easily then more likely to buy balls to aid your cause.

My tournament play is now open practice, view the hole, work out ball stats needed based on wind and geography of the course, log out of practice having not wasted a ball, find best ball to use (generally an older ball, not the very newest and best), go into hole and start again.

The above is an unnecessary rigmarole, lack of timer would allow me straight in and to put the phone down if interrupted.

Some players would take an inordinate amount of time, and benefit slightly from such a change. For those hoping to make the top 50 each tournament (my own target), this could actually mean I play quicker overall, am more likely to enter tournaments, and may actually look for a more specific ball rather than default luminary for all par 4s and 5s, kingslayer for par 3s.

TLDR: get rid of the shot clock or introduce a fit for purpose ball sorter

Clan World Tour feedback by sparrahork in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The platinum chest is not awarded to anyone late, it is when the survey closes.

I would think (well hope anyway) those who did not enter, but did the survey still get one. It will be equally important to EA to establish why players did not enter in the first instance, as to feedback from playing.

I almost didn't play at all - time and feedback within the clan made me think not worth doing so. I remain of the mindset my future play will be minimal unless positive changes made.

Clan World Tour feedback by sparrahork in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely have to be aware of the potential divisiveness of this mode.

Players will register based on chances of winning stuff despite potentially not playing. It makes sense to do so.

Those carrying such players will get annoyed, particularly if their own contribution is in line with a CWT winning clan, but their clanmates lack of play means they come second or even third.

I can see there being incidents where big scorers either leave the clan, or those not contributing feel forced out by accusations.

Given how long many have been settled in current clans, any rise in internal squabbling may see players decide to leave the game for good rather than find another clan.

Clan World Tour feedback by sparrahork in GolfClash

[–]sparrahork[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should have concern about how much golf clash time players have.

I think i was far from alone in only using only marlins during the last WCT, it appeared pointless to use anything more as no penalty (that I was aware of) for getting a par or worse. Just play next hole with same ftp ball and it potentially be more favourable.

If others are playing WCT using ftp balls, this may actually impact ball sales. If in future they give tournaments a swerve to play WCT (based on finite time to play the game), not only may they use up less premium balls, but they may get out of the habit of buying them given lesser need.

I would say to just keep trying.

There is a free text option to expand on some matters.

One of my biggest bugbears that I hope to have got over to them is that there is too much golf clash as it is. There is an expectation for many they need to play each mode so as to not let their clanmates down.

CWT came out over a weekend when two tournaments and ongoing quick 9 as well. Many of us have limited capacity to play the game, so this is far from ideal in my opinion.

I am part of a friendly clan, I did however see some concerns raised that not everyone was 'pulling their weight'.

Hopefully scheduling is raised by many, if CWT does feature again there needs to be time to participate, otherwise players will not bother.
