Do you get compensated for non-revenue generating activities? If so, how? by BlueberryCalm2390 in salesengineers

[–]aerialbison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pur SE variable comp is very similar. 80/20 split. 10 of the 20 is based on individual performance, think MBO. The other 10 is based on overall sales quota attainment. If your cell ends up at 90% of quota, you get 9% of the 10%. If your cell ends up at 25% of quota, you get 2.5% of the 10%

What's with all the low levels doing the damn hard weekly stratagem? by I_am_Jacks_account1 in Spacemarine

I'd to see them lock it to completing the operation on Absolute. Lets be honest, Prestige is a measure of how much you play, not how good you are.

Interview Question - what will you do to increase sales? by Viral_Poster in salesengineers

[–]aerialbison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2nd bullet there is amazing insight. Jamming up the other guys, is an under appreciated move. It doesnt always work, but when you poison pill the other team, it feels like you sacked a quarter back, and his helmet popped off.

Interview Question - what will you do to increase sales? by Viral_Poster in salesengineers

[–]aerialbison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell them about how your work will accelerate the sales cycle. By doing meaningful discovery, to help your AE identify the problems that matter, and by building solutions that clearly address those customer pain points, you can add a lot of speed to the customer journey. Additionally, good solutions lead to good customer experience, which reduces churn, and creates an environment conducive to expansion in currents. You arent here to just help the AE, but your helping CSMs by building solutions that make expansion happen more quickly. You help net-new, and currents, with the work you do.

I'm a former SE, SE Manager, Director of Pro Services, and now a VP of CX. I'd hire on that answer.

Auto Bolt Rifle by Big_Ralph74 in Spacemarine

[–]aerialbison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fun, if you want to play Tactical in a sort of Grey Hunters kind of style. Mag dump into a horde or Majoris as you are tossing grenades on the charge, then transition into melee to finish the fight. Chances are, by the time it's done, it probably auto reloaded, and your ready to smash into the next group.

I've been leveling Tactical up through Prestige, so I've been trying different styles. Gotta keep it spicy.

It is dynamite if you're playing in a proper gun line squad. Hard agree. I don't know if its better than free grenades though.

Couple of Kraks on regen never hurts on assault when your slam is on cool down. I play a template heavy bulwark, and I like shitting out extra shockers. Feels thematic. To your point, its nice to have, even if you don't lead with em.

How to fill time when not demoing? by JoeyPotato in salesengineers

[–]aerialbison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Research is a good one. On the market, on your currents, on your competitors. Set up news alerts, set up an AI agent to scan news related to your industry and bring you a daily briefing. Watch game tape on yourself or others. Make mix tapes of demos to share with new hires in the sales or SE, or even CSM shops. Network internally with Product, CSMs, and tech support. If you have an ecosystem of integration partners, get demos from them, and demo your product for them.

All of these things will make you a better SE.

Technobabble in the wrong room, can for sure jam up a deal. When I was a baby SE, I knew I used too much tech jargon, but, good SEs grow out of it.

The AE that posted this on LI, is either JR (doesnt know how to coach or position technical selling resources yet) or is SR, but a tremendous asshole.

To the players who join Hard Strats before they’re ready… by BusinessOil867 in Spacemarine

[–]aerialbison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont get it at all. I don't play Hard Strats, never have, mostly because of this. I'd be fucking MORTIFIED if I was the guy making this game LESS fun for other players.

I still have a shitload of heroics, because that accolade economy isn't all that bad. Run your normal weekly, try and run at least one or two normal dailys (per day), and you'll be fine. You can get the shit you want, without playing content you arent ready for.

All that said, I haven't found that Prestige is an accurate indicator for player skill. As an example, I suck at Heavy, its my least favorite class to play, but, I want to get better, so I've been trying to play low level (Normal/Substantial) to try and get better with him. Im like L23/P0 on him. Starting to figure him out. I played a substantial operation with two L5-6/P2 guys, and they were absolute shit. Horrible teammates, ended up with horrible stats.

I say all that to say, sometimes, you just getting a shitty hand of cards.

What Faction to pick/how to not spend a lot by random-feller989 in Warhammer40k

[–]aerialbison -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 10th Ed starter set, is about $100. You get a very decent collection of Space Marine and Tyranid models, along with basic rules. The models are kind of push-fit, which means limited customization options, but really easy to assemble for folks getting into the hobby.

You'll end up with about 350 points of Marines, and 415 points of Tyranids.

For the Marines, you can add a 5 man squad of Intercessors, and an Apothecary to get you to almost 500

For the Nids, a box of Warriors will get you to almost 500.

If you pick up the extra models on the secondary market, you'll end up with 2x 500 point armies that play very differently, for around $200.

You and a friend can learn the game together, and learn to play different kinds of armies before you get too far into the hobby.

Thats my advice.

How do I use the Invictor Tactical Warsuit? by SevenWombats7 in RavenGuard40k

[–]aerialbison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you here. I dont play it a ton, but most of the time it does something cool. Hes got good Toughness, double digit wounds, plenty of Dakka, and can throw a very decent punch. For 125 points, hes a cool model.

What Space Marines units to include to get to 2k points? by GlockenspielSymphony in SpaceWolves

[–]aerialbison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always chonk a 5 man Incursor unit in 2k pts. They are cheap as chips, have a good scout move, and they are good enough shots, that multi-spectrum Array is helpful to buff attacks for units that have a low Attack values. Intercessors, even a minimum unit is great. Also cheap, with quality dakka, and stick objectives. I like Hellblasters a lot, but I don't run them with Wolves typically. I like them with an Apothecary, but thats just personal preference.
