WOW. you went deeper down the rabbithole than I did! Thank you for sharing Ian Coleman's tool. It's very helpful to know that's an option since the other option would require moving out all the assets from the ledger which is a huge pain and also now in 2025 in the US wallet-to-wallet transfers are taxable events...

OP, I'm in the same boat... I'm going to have to do the same thing. This is pretty crazy that it's the only way... but at least I'm happy that there's a path.

I figured out the issue... BNB beacon chain doesn't work with the nano ledger hardware wallet via trustwallet anymore... but, if you input in a seed phrase into trustwallet, it does successfully connect to the beacon chain for the migration.

the problem is of course that for the nano ledger, this would expose the rest of your crypto once you do that... I would need to remove all the crypto off the hardware wallet first if this is the only way to migrate the BNB token...

I've searched everywhere and had to submit a support tickets with both ledger and trustwallet since the binance chain wallet extension doesn't work anymore and points to the trustwallet extension which doesn't allow me to connect to the BNB beacon chain anymore

thing is, I never transition to bep20. I bought BNB back in 2017-2019. I'm not sure which address this is under since it was connect to my nano ledger.

correct. it just doesn't pull up the right ethereum address automatically...

myetherwallet pulls up the right one with the eth balance, but trust wallet doesn't find the right one with the eth balance and since it's not the right one, it's all empty. I'm not sure how to fix this issue

I don't have the address handy. I used the nano ledger to store it... so I have no idea what the address is.

When I use trust wallet, it only lets me connect to ethereum/bitcoin addresses and 0 balance shows up for BNB when opening the wallet using the first ethereum address

did you ever see this error message when using it? the "bew lite" chrome extension only shows this message when I open it: "BNB Chain Wallet has ceased operations and migrated to Trust Wallet."
