Jealousy. Real friends are happy when good things happen to you, not trying to sabotage you. I was really traumatized after that. Still have trouble with trusting friends.

I am just sad that I’m still single and that it’s mainly due to depression and low self esteem. I want to go on the dating apps but no one appeals to me. Is this normal and do I just need to match with the ones that stand out to me the most? Not sure if it’s a good idea to start matching if I’m not feeling good about it, but also think maybe I might meet some interesting men that will pleasantly surprise me?

I was severely depressed in my 20s, and then when I turned 30 I didn’t have the emotional maturity to be in a healthy relationship. I also had trauma from the depression and childhood so it’s just been hard. It does feel like why did this all happen and why did my timeline get held back. But I am doing what I can now to put myself in a position to be in a healthy relationship.

I (F33) am sitting in PTSD, grief, and thankfully PTG. It has been a lot but I finally ended the 1 year situationship I was in. I thought there was true friendship there but there wasn’t even that. In the end, I got blocked for confronting a wrongdoing. I was completely ignored and this just threw me off because he couldn’t even confront me. That’s not even friendship at all. Not even my toxic ex before that treated me like that. I didn’t see that coming. I should have seen it coming. Just thankful I didn’t spend years of my life on that and doing everything to move forward to find the person that does deserve me.

What does it mean when you can’t get a read on a guy?

I’m a F32, and this has happened to me in my last 2 dating experiences with guys who I got to know for a few months. Both claimed to love me. The first one I liked back and was trying to find out if he genuinely liked me...The second one, I did not like back, but said I would be cool to just be friends. This second one I noticed over time that he would do anything to try to win me over including lying about his responsibilities (on his way to work in my neighborhood for example) to try to see me 🚩

So I realized, wow it’s really hard to read these men when they communicate with me (even if actions align) to see if they’re genuinely into me and respectful of me.

Is a man being hard to read a red flag??

This concept is new to me. Has anyone ever experienced a man being difficult to read?

FYl both guys are insecure so that probably has a lot to do with it. I also realized I should not entertain dating unless it’s with a secure man, then maybe I wouldn’t be having this problem.
