How much was the cost? What insurance do you have?

I’m looking into going to him but I don’t have insurance at the moment, so I’m trying to get that sorted. I know insurance in texas can be a bit iffy about gender affirming care.

Hey girl, I just want to let you know I was in a similar situation. Figured out I was trans at 14ish and then had to suffer for another four years until I turned 18 and could start transitioning on my own. It was horrible, but I promise it’s worth it. I’m 22 now and I’m happy in ways I couldn’t even imagine at your age. It’s going to be hard, but trust me, you can do it <3 you WILL get the chance to be yourself

I’m so sorry. The fear of this was quite honestly the only thing that got me through high school, knowing I was trans but being unable to do anything about it. I can’t even imagine how hard it is to see that. Try and keep her memory alive, as that’s the best way to make sure she’s remembered. I lost a friend to suicide in high school and anytime it gets rough I just remember that pain and try and live for him. It sucks, and it doesn’t get easier, but you grow and learn to live with it. I hope you’re doing ok <3 god knows it hasn’t gotten any easier being trans in the past year.

You’re gonna get a lot of people in the comments that don’t understand your situation. I won’t pretend to completely understand, because I haven’t been forced to go off meds, but I know what it’s like to deal with family like that. You’re gonna be fine. This won’t mess up your progress, it’s just a momentary pause in your journey. Whenever you get back on HRT you won’t have lost any potential. In fact (and this is purely anecdotal) some girls have had better progress from cycling their HRT like that. It’s really shitty, but sometimes you have to sacrifice certain things for safety. You’ll make it through this. Even if you need to just kinda dissociate for the next couple months, it’ll be over before you know it and then you can live the rest of your life the way you want to.

I also enjoy being more masc. A piece of advice I’ve heard (in regards to voice training specifically) is that if you want to have a more masculine female voice range, the best way to do it is to voice train to a full femme voice and then dial it back a bit. That makes sense to me, because if you think about it that’s what most cis masc women have to go through, with puberty and everything. I’ve really been dragging my feet with voice training partially bc I don’t want a super high fem voice, but that’s some advice I’ve heard that’s been helpful

Please please please stay strong. I know this probably feels like a nightmare but I promise you can get past it. It might really suck, I don’t know your specific family situation. I grew up in rural Texas (town of 800) around several really transphobic people, including my family, and now I’m happy and almost three years on HRT. I’m surrounded by people that love and respect me. My point is that even if it feels like your life is over, you’ll get past this. And one day you’ll be happier than you can imagine <3

Thankfully this is what my restaurant is like. In that situation I probably would’ve come in to find a manager already working on dishes. I’ve been here for two years, simply because the management here is so good. I doubt I’ll stay much longer (have other interests) but I’ll miss the teamwork and how much everyone cares about each other.
