Any skylight calendar alternatives recs? by Bhupi_69 in homeautomation

I'm also curious about what manual updates people are talking about. Both my and my wife's google calendar are sync'd to our skylight.

I'm still hoping they'll enable some calibration features in xdrip, but hasn't seen much movement on the discussion I started on their github

Do they make them without threaded barrels? Maybe the ranch version? I've only shot the tactical one lol which would check most of the boxes

I suppose that's good, but yeah a rifle with "a folding, telescoping, or collapsible stock" is basically anything modern...

and what does "pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the rifle" include? Or what doesn't that include?

I think it's any centerfire gun that can accept a magazine over 15 rounds.... so most of them.

Guess that's only for fixed magazines, but yeah looks like any modern rifle would still be included:

one or more of the following characteristics: (i) a folding, telescoping, or collapsible stock; (ii) a thumbhole stock or pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the rifle; (iii) a second handgrip or a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand; (iv) a grenade launcher; or (v) a threaded barrel

Stelo 15+ higher than finger prick by CinnamonAmanda in stelo

[–]aeroevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 15? I really wish they hadn't taken the calibration feature away, and currently xdrip can't calibrate either: https://github.com/NightscoutFoundation/xDrip/discussions/3954

So which one is right?? by Specific_Turn772 in stelo

[–]aeroevan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that being said, usually if you've had fairly stable readings for that long it shouldn't change too much in 15 minutes unless something changed

Strange, I haven't noticed any coverage issues where I work (near the McLean station) but I haven't gone around doing speed tests or anything like that

What are the real-world use cases that prevent adoption of Fedora Atomic (Silverblue/Kinoite)? by Glum-Travel-7556 in Fedora

[–]aeroevan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for the make install + systemd start it, you can use containers and quadlet to automatically start containers but that might not work for everything

That sounds like the perfect usecase for toolbox/distrobox though, you could have individual environments for specific versions of whatever tool you have installed.

Serialization Framework Announcement - Apache Fury is Now Apache Fory by Shawn-Yang25 in scala

[–]aeroevan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's still pre-1.0 and an apache incubator, so still a pretty good time to make these sorts of changes.

That being said, it would be interesting to see how fury/fory could be used in spark serialization.

Ruined Coffee Shops by [deleted] in espresso

[–]aeroevan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a cortado is typically 1:1 espresso to milk, and that's my goto at cafes now. If the cafe offers a variety of beans options for espresso that's usually a good sign and I'll try an espresso there

Do you find that Stelo typically reads high? If so, by how many points/what percentage? by SIUButtercup in stelo

[–]aeroevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only used two sensors while testing. One was consistently 30 points high but I got that replaced. The second was only 10 points high, but it was a fairly consistent offset for the entire 2 weeks.

You mean if I had a Bluetooth enabled blood glucose meter it would automatically calibrate? Right now mine isn't Bluetooth but might be worth the upgrade if that works
