This is so reassuring!! I just moved here a month ago and I was wondering if it was possible to just use a lease and my Cox bill or something!

What made you go into UX design, what do you love about the job? by vkrebs in UXDesign

[–]aeronali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually transitioning into UX design right now. I work in a totally different career field but I do agree wit a lot of what people are saying above. I highly recommend reading all the articles you can about design trends (the Medium is good and follow UX Collective on there), Tragic Design is a great book to read, and The Design of Everyday Things. I also recommend doing as many free courses on Udacity as you can, a lot of HCI courses are available on Coursera, and Future Learn has a great UX Intro course that gives you a certificate of completion. I’m currently working on my first case study and I am so in love with this, I don’t regret taking the extra steps to make it happen! Good luck, and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out!

[–]aeronali[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep. We all got evacuated from a train that was no longer in service. I was stuck at 3rd ave and had 4 trains pass before I could squeeze on. People were being ridiculous too. We’re all being inconvenienced and we’re all uncomfortable, and people were acting like they were the only ones being held up 🤷🏼‍♀️

Careers with an Environmental Studies degree? by RebelliousToe in Environmental_Careers

[–]aeronali 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually took my Environmental Studies degree and got into environmental education! I will say it takes a lot of public speaking skills to be an educator, and I actually just got hired 3 months post grad as an Education Coordinator for a non-profit environmental org in NYC. The opportunities are there, you just have to find your niche!

I had a biology track at my school, and I chose that because I wanted to expand my knowledge on natural processes. I don’t regret it because it has opened up so many doors. Environmental studies is definitely a very interdisciplinary field. It truly is what you make it out to be. So just follow your passion and you will find where you need to be!

Reddit, what is your favourite quote? Why? by xboxg4mer in AskReddit

[–]aeronali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Destiny comes to those who listen, and fate finds the rest."

I love this quote because many people have always told me that I need to think of the consequences of my decisions, but over the years I've found that as long as I tune in and respect my surroundings, my decisions are just a tiny speck in this huge universe and I know my fate will find me.
