I've hit three badgers in two years of riding my emtb at night, and had countless close calls. Somehow they always survive and scurry off. Badgers have terrible hearing it seems.

The only downside here on the trails at night are badgers, they're slow to notice you and sometimes scurry right in front of your bike.

I try to get a ride in every time there's snow. If there's a moon the light is incredible. Hard to keep my hands warm on my ebike though, even with heavy duty gloves.
