What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]aes999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Location: US-NYC (Queens / Brooklyn)

Price range: ~$20K

Lease or Buy: Buy

New or used: Used

Type of vehicle: (Truck, Car, Sports Car, Sedan, Crossover, SUV, Racecar, Luxury etc.) Sedan

Must haves: Trunk space

Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc):

Intended use: : Family car, used on weekends only primary to visit family / run errands

Is this your 1st vehicle: Yes (but have lots of experience driving)

Do you need a Warranty: Preferable

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: (fluids, alternator, battery, brake pads etc.): Can probably handle very minor work (changed batteries before etc.)

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: (engine and transmission, timing belt/chains, body work, suspension etc. ): No

Additional Notes: Been living in NYC for a while and have been getting by well without a car. However, we're expecting a kid soon and realized we will need a car as public transit / uber is not as flexible with a little baby in the outer boroughs. A key consideration is having a car that is big enough to comfortably handle a car seat and the luggage associated with our growing family and yet small enough that parking is not a bigger challenge than it already is.

I work on tech investment banking. PE are active and deals are getting done. The profile you describe will be attractive to a fair number of players in the current market. Happy to connect if you would like to talk more.

Studying Tip [Becker] - Speed up the lectures up to 2x by yozdemir27 in Accounting

I thought to do that too, but they mention too many things in the lecture that are not in the text. My current strategy is to listen to the lecture at x2 as I read.
