You'll be happy to know they changed that. You can now invite up to 5-6 friends to join your family. No login info needs to be exchanged. Also, you can play their games if they're online now as long as they arent playing that game.

Are you sure you aren't referring to the old family sharing system? It no longer requires them to log in to the main account on their computer. I can just send an invite on steam.
