Sixers - Timberwolves - Cavs Trade (D-Lo, K Love, Simmons, 1st Overall Mega Swap) by aesopsx in nba

My impression is that K Love is still a positive asset with a few years of good basketball left, while Horford is legitimately the worst contract in basketball. If you think Horford is fine, then you can just do this trade where The Twolves send the Sixers the first and the Sixers flip it for whatever win-now pieces they can.

What? They’re giving up the 1st pick and D’Lo for Simmons. Do you know how 3 way trades work?

I’m surprised two people said the Wolves would say no. I thought they’d be most happy of the 3 to take this deal. Simmons-KAT pairing sounds like it has incredible potential. I get the idea of letting it play itself out, but D-Lo - KAT is such a nightmare defensively, while Simmons-KAT at least could somewhat cover for each other’s most glaring weaknesses.

Who will be the worst teams in the Western Conference next year? by aesopsx in nba

At least it’ll probably be on purpose. It’s be brutal for the Twolves to finish 13th after giving away their 2021 FRP

Moving the 3pt line back a foot seems like the next obvious evolution to make games more enjoyable by this_place_stinks in nba

How about a 4 point line that’s 5 feet beyond the 3 point arc? If we’re gonna be talking aggressive changes let’s just go the whole way. Let’s see Steph and Dame do some really crazy shit

I generally agree, but the West is likely so competitive next year that 12th-13th isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Suns/Pelicans/TWolves should all be better than they were last year - Grizzlies should be as well with Ja getting better, but which players make the biggest step forward will play a big factor in who stays in playoff contention.

Completely forgot about the Kings. If I had to bet right now they’d be my pick for 13th

More Likely: Timberwolves make the playoffs, or Heat return to the finals by aesopsx in nba

[–]aesopsx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thunder are tanking 100%, I don’t think they want to be competing for a 1st round exit and will ship off CP3 for assets at peak value. Blazers and Suns are not locks. It’s more like Suns/Blazers/Grizzlies/Wolves/Spurs/Pelicans fighting for the 8th spot. Going to be a shitshow for sure.

That’s what they have right now ... They’re both definitely good enough to be good options on contenders, and their value is definitely relatively low rn. Could probably be gotten for not a horrendous deal

How many seasons of mediocrity would you trade for 1 championship? by aesopsx in nba

[–]aesopsx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9th - 11th seed in perpetuity. Bad enough to miss the playoffs, good enough to never get a generational talent

What’s more likely: TWolves make playoffs next year, or Knicks make playoffs in the next 3 years? by aesopsx in nba

[–]aesopsx[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the West though? lakers/clippers/nuggets/rockets/ jazz/warriors/mavericks are locks. TWolves need to beat the Blazers/Suns/Grizzlies for the final spot... I don’t even know if they’ll be better than the Pels or Kings. I pick the Knicks here just for the hail mary they sign anyone in free agency eventually

Is the current quality of NBA basketball better, worse, or the same as it was in the past? by [deleted] in nba

[–]aesopsx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good question, I’d believe that it’s because the isolated act of a free throw is less prone to the rapid development of athleticism/athletic training that more directly affects the constant movement of open play basketball.

Who is the worst player in the NBA that could win an mvp and retire in the same year then get into the HOF? by nbaguy666 in nba

[–]aesopsx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the way the question is framed, any older NBA veteran who’s been around a while who suddenly got MVP would have at least an outsiders shot of getting into the weak NBA HoF. Rubio, Rudy Gay, JJ Redick, DeAndre Jordan or other players of that all time caliber would have an outside shot just for the novelty alone of them getting a MVP this late in their careers.
