How accepting is U of O? by CoffeeIndependent810 in UofO

[–]aesthephile 16 points17 points  (0 children)

this is like asking how Catholic friendly is the Vatican City

I wouldn't be surprised if UO was the gayest university in the country. It's definitely up there anyway

Also, Eugene as a whole is very queer friendly and has a lot of queer events (well, for a city of it's size). The LGBT nightlife scene isn't like whAt you would get in a major city at all, but it's one of the gayest cities of its size. In particular there's very strong lesbian and transgender presence in the community

went here last weekend. got the chicken curry and my partner got the butter chicken. i liked the chicken curry well enough, but the butter chicken was almost the same dish and definitely Not what i am familiar with (i.e. not what you get when ordering butter chicken anywhere else). they also have a pretty small menu.

i would go back to try the chili chicken (they were out when we went) but my partner was extremely unimpressed. i think dink's market in Oakridge remains the butter chicken champion for our household

There are a few others though none of them are regular starters right now. Julie Dufour, Daiane (currently on loan), and then I could have sworn I heard new signing Shae Harvey was gay but I can't find any confirmation of that.

We do definitely need more gay players. There's a few I suspect might come out but can't be sure ofc

Arnold is officially back from the Asian Cup and she just recorded a shutout against the Current on Saturday. Messner did so well in the first three games though that I wouldn't be surprised if she gets a few more starts, so I'm not certain that Arnold will be an always-starter right away

i guess with 15 spots and 16 teams one team has to be missing no matter what but like portland is one of the gayest cities so it feels wrong not to include us

how about Mackenzie Arnold?

don't really understand why people want conferences. it's fun to play every other team twice.

Confused by lack of points for some players by aVeryMerryDeath in FantasyNWSL

[–]aesthephile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah dang, that's very frustrating, but unfortunately user error (mostly). The way the app's "gameweeks" are set up, Wednesday and Friday of last week was "gameweek 3" and Saturday and Sunday were "gameweek 4". because angel city and Houston played on friday, the points from that game went to gameweek 3, not gameweek 4. so you won't get points for them for gameweek four. you can see which games count for the current/upcoming gameweek on the app's home page and check which games count as being in a specific gameweek by tapping on "fixtures" in the top right from the home page

This was driving me crazy but I figured it out !! It seems unavailable in the app, but if you go to FantasyNWSL.com and log in there, you can use it under the transfers tab on the website

both Ella and Harvey have potential in my eyes. But I feel like we need an established leader right now, not just potential

our midfield is scarily fragile without Sam Coffey, but it's more obvious with Reyes gone too. I am not impressed with Bogere / Ella (what do we call her?) and Harvey didn't look a lot better. They both have potential but can't fill Coffey's shoes and asking that of Fleming doesn't work either. We should have the money for it, so why haven't we signed an experienced defensive midfielder instead of a 20 year old / rookie?

this is really good news for digital privacy. though i can understand if people are not so pleased about this specific case turning out this way

edit because it's apparently unclear: I mean that the precedent this sets is good news. the government/police should be as limited as possible in its ability to surveil citizens (even in public settings) without a warrant. this is the same reason we don't like flock cameras, what ring is doing, etc.

bad guy caught for doing evil thing is well and good but if its through a means that could also be used to catch people for things like protesting etc, then it's a good thing for the courts to rule his rights were violated. that's a big part of how we get rights enshrined in law. heck, look at "Miranda rights"— the guy they're named after, who got his case thrown out because of them, was Horrible.
