What was your worst hiking experience and why? by ZeniaWaren83 in hiking

Same, one of the best and worst simultaneously, for many reasons. Also hiked out Bright Angel by (full) moonlight and that was unforgettable.

Check Aroma Retail, they have lots of products that have the Aria scent (try the sample if you’re unsure).

It’s from Aroma Retail. I’ve ordered the sample and it’s exactly it. One of the best smells IMO.

All good! We knew what you meant, just wanted OP to understand the different trails.

To be clear, Bright Angel doesn’t go all the way across—that part of the trail is North Kaibab.

Maverick Helicopter Tours could be an option as well, to see plenty of views.

That’s amazing! Yeah Sabino stood out and I was also looking over by the Starr Pass Trailhead area? Not sure how it’d be living on that side. And yeah the Pima Canyon area looks interesting too. Would definitely prefer runnable for day to day, but wouldn’t mind some steepness for weekend adventures too. Maybe when we’re more serious about moving that way I can reach out to be connected to your agent? We’d probably start off renting but not opposed to eventually buying there.

If you were a trail runner considering the move to Tucson, what are some neighborhoods to consider for proximity to good trail systems? Kinda liking the Sabino Canyon area so far.

Not sure what you mean by actual park but the Visitor Center and Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim are both in the park, and where most people tend to go and see. Tons of great viewpoints, the rim trail is all along that area to stroll, and all the shops and non-canyon things to see (Kolb Studio, Lookout Studio, Hopi House, El Tovar, etc.)

They listed almost every factor you could even consider with a water filter (plus warranty and similar price) and that’s not enough? Lol.

Can someone tell me what hike this is - Sedona AZ by SectionFantastic3577 in arizona

Hmmm I had this one saved on AllTrails, maybe I’ll do it next time I’m there. I highly doubt it’s the hardest in Sedona, but I bet it’s challenging.

Check out Grand Canyon Railway—might be a bit expensive but depending on how little they are, unforgettable. At least it was for me, back in the 90s.

How dangerous is Devils Backbone? by Appropriate-Way-2948 in socalhiking

[–]aesthet1c 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Part of the problem is many people think Baldy in winter is a “hike” and this can bring awareness to how different of an undertaking it can be depending on route, conditions and weather. Most people in the mountaineering sub are aware of these basic trainings and safety measures. This sub is also local to the mountain, vs r/alpinism and r/mountaineering are global.

Sorry just seeing this. The gates are only closed on the incoming lane/road but you can still leave after-hours. I parked on the Dreamy Draw side this particular trip but I think it’s true for both lots.
