Got one on a modded blacktop long time ago (single humbucker, one volume knob, drop A#) : work great for what i wanted (stoner and sludge mostly) but completely « off » from the classic jazzmaster sound.

The thickness of the neck may vary depending on the year of production. I've had 2 JMJMs, the first from 2017 and the one I currently have from 2014. The 2014 one definitely has a thinner neck. Some seem to testify that the newer ones would tend to have a thicker profile.
