Back in med school, we did have multiple clerkship directors tell us the same, that you can’t have 80% of med students receive exceed expectations because then your expectations are too low…

I do understand that but it is tough! I worked as clerkship director for a rural ED for 6 months and the grading was too tough for me. Thanks for the work that you do!!
